"Michigan government can no longer afford to be all things to all people," Granholm said in a May 5 statement. "We expect to have to make more cuts like these in the future, which are the very type of wrenching cuts we have worked so hard to avoid in the past."

Of course, Grhanolm will keep cutting things that the state is responsible for, like prisons, police & fire departments. Areas where the states citizens expect our tax monies to go. All of this is a ploy to soften up the public for new tax hikes that are sure to be looming on the horizon soon.
