    You think she should do one thing.

    And others think she should keep doing what she's doing.

    The difference is, you're saying that public schools should be open to all points of view.  The underlying problem is that we know better.  We know they're not open to Judeo-Christian points of views.  They're not open to pro-military, pro-patriotism points of view.  They're not open to conservative, prudent change points of view.

    Allah, Meccah, Gaia, Global Warmin^H^H^H^H^H^HClimate Change...  If you disagree with those, you're not open minded.  If you agree with Judeo-Christian points of view, then you're some kind of closed minded biggot.  If you disagree that you're closed minded, then you just proved their point, right?

    These are the views preached in many school districts, explicitly and implicitly.  I think the original poster has it right - if we're going to say schools should be a bastion of "any ideas", then let any ideas flow.  But don't restrict some, while heavily enforcing others and claim you're "open" to all points of view.  It's intellectually dishonest, and I can't tolerate teachers who bold-face lie to me or my kids.
