    I come from a long line of Great Lakes sailors out of Calcite in Rogers City.  My grandfather and six uncles all sailed or are still sailing.  One uncle was promoted and transfered from the Bradley a week before it went down.  I also have many family and friends who sailed out of Alpena too.  I am a great fan of the Great Lakes and it's lore pertaining to sailing and shipwrecks.  Glad you had the opportunity to see and experience Northeast Michigan.  It really is a hidden part of the state because there are no major expressways to get there and it was a great place to grow up and raise our family.  

    I am sure during your sailing time you met some of the same people I know and grew up with.  If we ever meet up it will be like catching up on old home news!
