Michigan liberals attack Lansing congregation in the middle of Sunday worship

This is what we're up against.

On Sunday morning, amidst worshiping congregants and following unifying prayers that our President-elect be granted wisdom as he prepares to lead our nation through difficult global, social and economic challenges, the Michigan left declared open war on peaceful church goers.

They did it with banners, chants, blasphemy, by storming the pulpit, by vandalizing the church facility, by potentially defiling the building with lewd, public, sex acts and by intentionally forcing physical confrontations with worshipers.

This didn't take place in some dystopian, post modern work of fiction and it didn't take place in San Francisco or Berkley.  This was the scene at a Bible believing church in Lansing, Michigan.

    Read on...

I returned home myself yesterday, from church and an afternoon watching football with the family, to find an email in my inbox from a friend in the Capitol City.  Isn't surprising to see her name in the inbox as she and I often compare notes on our Sunday services.

Truth be told, I've done my best over the last year to start a friendly little rivalry with her.  My church is better than hers, I insist, and I have been known to tell her why. Hers is superior to mine, she reminds me, and lists the reasons.  (I admit I'm maybe a tad hyper-competitive, but my church really is the best in the world.)  Yesterday's email began with an understated proclamation; "So church today was exciting..."

On  Sunday, November 9, 2008 Michigan liberals sat peacefully through announcements, worship and prayer for the sick, our nation and our President-elect before staging a coordinated, disgusting and repulsive attack on worshipers and the broader concept of the church itself at Lansing's Mount Hope Church.

The lefties were a part of a liberal organization known as Bash Back Lansing and their collection of radical blogs, including one of the state's most widely read "mainstream" progressive blogs (and none which will receive a link on this website) called on "queers and trannies" from across the state and the region to converge on Lansing for what they refer to as an "action."  While many of the members claim to be anarchists (they drove on roads, ate non-garden grown foods, printed materials on products created by government protected free markets, wore clothing, talk incessantly about "organization," etc etc etc) their broader goal is stated plainly on one of their lefty blogs.

"I can tell you that we are targeting a well-known anti-queer, anti-choice radical right wing establishment."

Mount Hope, for the record, is an evangelical, bible believing church whose members provide free 24 hour counseling, prayer lines, catastrophic care for families dealing with medical emergencies, support groups for men, women and children dealing with a wide variety of life's troubles, crisis intervention, marriage ministries, regular, organized volunteer work in and around the city, missions in dozens of countries across the globe, a construction ministry that has built over 100 churches, schools, orphanages and other projects all over the world and an in-depth prison ministry that reaches out, touches and helps the men and women the rest of society fears the most.  They also teach respect for all human life and the Biblical sanctity of marriage as an institution between one man and one woman.

This is what Michigan liberals label a "radical right wing establishment," and over 30 of them showed up in force yesterday.  Wearing secret-service style ear pieces and microphones they received the "go" from their ringleader and off they went.

Prayer had just finished when men and women stood up in pockets across the congregation, on the main floor and in the balcony.  "Jesus was gay," they shouted among other profanities and blasphemies as they rushed the stage.  Some forced their way through rows of women and kids to try to hang a profane banner from the balcony while others began tossing fliers into the air.  Two women made their way to the pulpit and began to kiss.

Their other props?  I'll let them tell you in their own words... from another of their liberal blogs:

"(A) video camera, a megaphone, noise makers, condoms, glitter by the bucket load, confetti, pink fabric...yeh."

The video camera they put to good use as they attempted to provoke a violent reaction.  The image of the pink-clad folks above is one of theirs, stating in a picture worth more than a thousand words the goals of the Michigan left.

The "open minded" and "tolerant" liberals ran down the aisles and across the pews, hoping against hope to catch a "right winger" on tape daring to push back (none did).  And just in case their camera missed the target, they had a reporter in tow.  According to a source inside the church yesterday there was a "journalist" from the Lansing City Pulse along for the ride, tipped off about the action and more interested in getting a story than in preventing the vandalism, the violence and anti-Christian hatred being spewed by the lefties.  We'll see what he files and what his editors see fit to print.

Props were readily on display too, though some of the condoms may have been put to even more nefarious use.

An hour after police and security had collected and removed who they thought were the last of the liberals, a volunteer security person discovered two more, hiding, together, in a public restroom. While their compatriots engaged in openly violent protest in front of everyone these two snuck away to potentially stage their own protest of sorts, and only by the grace of God did one of the hundreds of kids at the church not happen upon that particular restroom in those moments. Precisely how long they'd been there and precisely what they'd been up to we don't know.

The church's response?  After things settled down, the blasphemy ended, the lewd props removed and the families safe from fear of additional men and women running into and past them the pastor took the stage and led the congregation in one more prayer... not for retribution, or divine justice or a celestial comeuppance (that's what I'd have prayed for) but instead that the troubled individuals who'd just defiled the Lord's house, so full of anger and hate, would know Jesus' love in their lives and God's peace that exceeds human understanding.

Yesterday morning defined the difference between a church of believers and Michigan liberals.  It also illustrated in shocking, painful detail precisely what we're up against.

To call these people liberal is a stretch, kind-of like calling the Klan a conservative group.  Bash back has absolutely no tolerance for other people and no respect for themselves.  This a radical fringe anarchist group that hates gays and lesbians who want to get married, serve in the military, raise families, work full-time jobs and go to church. In fact, these people hate liberals just as much as they hate conservatives.

I don't know what's up with some churches being such pacifists. If this had happened in our church, we'd have locked the doors and the criminals would have been subdued before the police were ever called. I can think of a number of crimes this group committed on private property, - not to mention contributing to the delinquency of minors present; it was well within the church members' rights to respond with non-lethal force to put an immediate end to this assault. If this happened in my house, I'd have every right to throw someone out a window or two. To have allowed it to continue in a church without making an effort to stop it is nothing short of irresponsible, and condones this kind of action. Perhaps the church goers should wake up to the fact that Jesus didn't call his people to be victims.

I'm attacked relentlessly in the blogosphere while on mission, delivering the message will immediatly bring attacks on:
Your Ideology: usually by anarchists, due to 1000's of years of examples of success.
Your Message: Which is rare, much to my chagrin, since I like a good bout of raucous raillery, but they love to snipe from a distance, seeking recluse from the foray in lofty Styrofoam towers.
Your Personage: In an attempt to destroy the message by provoking violent reaction.

I'm always uplifted by a scene in the movie Saving Private Ryan.. when confronting these gripers?

    I don't gripe to you.
    I'm a captain.
    There's a chain of command.
Griping goes one way, up, only up, never down.  You gripe to me, I gripe to my superior officers.  Up, get it?
I don't gripe to you, I don't gripe in front of you. How long you been in the army?

Stay on task, focus on the mission and remember the gripes always come UP from a minions bunker of ignorance.

Without the link - from their own website. I hope they are fined for trespassing, pulling fire alarms, disturbing the peace, etc.

The Mount Hope Church is a deplorable, anti-queer mega-church in
Lansing, Michigan. The church works to institutionalize transphobia and
homophobia through several repulsive projects including organized "ex-gay"
conferences and so-called "hell houses", which depict queers, trannies and
womyn who seek abortions as the horrors. Mt. Hope is complicit in the repression
of queers in Michigan and beyond.

Bash Back! ain't down with that. And so on Sunday November 9th, about
thirty radical queers from Lansing, Chicago, Memphis and Milwaukee
disrupted the church's most well-attended sermon.

At noon, a small group of folks dressed in pink and black, equipped with a
megaphone, black flags, picket signs and an upside-down pink cross began
demonstrating outside the church. The group was extremely loud and wildly
    offensive.

The demonstration drew a majority of Mount Hope's security staff outside
    to watch them.

Meanwhile, with the guards pre-occupied by the distraction, over a dozen
queers had put on their Sunday-best and infiltrated the church's
congregation. At the signal that the guards had been lured outside, the
    infiltrators sprung into action.

A group stood up, declared themselves fags, and began screaming loudly.
Upon hearing the loud interruption, other affinity groups went into
action. A team that had been hiding under the pews in the closed-off
balcony dropped a banner and pulled back the curtains to reveal "IT'S OKAY
TO BE GAY! BASH BACK!". Another group threw over a thousand fliers to the
entirety of the congregation. The fire alarm was pulled. Queers began
making out in front of the pastor. And within a matter of minutes,
everyone had evaded the guards and made their escapes.

Bash Back! operatives, still hidden among the congregation observed a
person screaming that Satan had come to Mount Hope, that the end was here,
that the queers were everywhere. She then began speaking tongues. The
dumbfounded pastor, after regaining his composure, went on to speak of the
of decadent, depraved wolves that menace his flock of sheep.

Let it be known: So long as bigots kill us in the streets, this pack of
wolves will continue to BASH BACK!

    We are everywhere.

If it makes you guys feel better, I can virtually guarantee the police or Feds will have them infiltrated and sometime down the road they'll get busted.  Same thing happened to Black Bloc when we went to DC in March 2007 for a pro-troops counter-demonstration against the antiwar crowd.  Police crushed them before they could do anything.

Regardless, this is disgusting and my heart goes out to the congregation.  We live in troubled times.

that the media hasn't picked this up.  The media will do everything in its power to not make liberals look bad.  It is the same when they show gay pride parades from San Fransisco, the media only shows all the happy people peacefully marching, they never show the perverted acts that are preformed throughout the parade.  This, to them is a non-story, or at least one in which it will get no air time.

I think the church has a strong case. It needs to be pursued in both the civil and criminal courts. The ACLU should be contacted. (That would add insult to injury to have the liberal ACLU coming down on the side of the conservatives!) There is a MIchigan Alliance Against Hate Crimes(http://miaahc.com) that should be contacted.

This is basically tantamount to a bunch of KKK-ers showing up at an African - American church. I am tired of these people accusing conservative Christians of being hateful when their actions show them to be the hateful ones.

I'm an economic and defense conservative, and a social libertarian (small 'l'). While I am only culturally Christian (as Karl Rove said, "I'm not fortunate enough to be a person of faith."), I nevertheless have a lot of respect for marriage and the Church.

Seeing the gay community's racist behavior is infuriating. I know there are thousands of GLBTs who would never act that way, but they aren't the ones marching and chanting, are they?

There's two buildings in the ground, and a damaged Pentagon. A tragedy on 9-11 right? Why is the 4th plane, also in the ground, but those peoples are heroes. What's the difference? Let's remember that terrorists, armed with ONLY boxcutters, held scores of people hostage til their deaths. EXCEPT ON ONE PLANE. Those guys did something and prevented a further tragedy with huge implications if they didn't. They did something.

The problem is we let the media and the current norms dictate our LACK of action. Those people sat in that church service afraid to act. Not because they were afraid of the consequence, but because of what people would say.

And that's Christian behavior? You did the same thing by removing my post (like I really care) but still, you removed that one, but the post right before it calling into suspect Christian behavior in totality like we deserve this(?), you leave that up?

This is the epidemic in our society today. It's easier to beat up on our allies than to deal with the enemies. Israel is about to sign a huge mistake of a peace treaty for the VERY SAME reason. They can't get our support, they can't even get their own support to fight against terrorism because of what people will say.

And we wonder why things like this church being attack happens. By doing nothing they invite it happening again.

Reckon this will get deleted too.
