Convention: Day 1By Chad, Section News
Well, I am in Minneapolis for the Republican National Convention along with Nick and many, many others from Michigan. The first thing that you notice here is that Sarah Palin is the talk of the convention. Republicans are really fired up about her and what she brings to the table. John McCain, in one swift stroke, has been able to suck all of the oxygen out of the media coverage of the Democratic National Convention and injected some serious electricity into his campaign.
The protests have been pretty mild so far. We were treated to the obligatory oversized paper-mâché heads, peace signs, communist attire, etc. Not much in the way of originality and not very large in the way of size.
