MIGOP outreach vice-chair candidate Akindele Akinyemi continued a statewide listening tour this week with a visit to the western Michigan town of Muskegon. Previous stops have included Pontiac, Benton Harbor and his home town of Detroit.  Akinyemi spoke with former Muskegon County Clerk Karen Buie and toured several area schools.

Akinyemi, an educator himself, took a tour of Muskegon Heights High School with the current principal and spoke with students. Writing of his experience with the students he states, "I told them the reason why I am here is to help them because the GOP has to begin to break those stereotypes from the minds of the urban community."

You can read about this latest stop of his tour on his blog here.
