Elected Official Will Ask To Be Fired Wednesday

The Cheboygan County Drain Commissioner, Dennis Lennox, will be requesting a serious budget cut during the Wednesday session of the Board of Commissioners; his job. Lennox will essentially ask to be fired and has even launched a website to plead his case. FireDennis.com was launched during the weekend with the tag line "Cheboygan County's Drain Commissioner has nothing to do, so it's time to fire him."

While it sounds a little strange, he actually ran for the office with the intent of having it eliminated. On his website Lennox states "There is nothing for the drain commissioner to do in Cheboygan County except waste taxpayer money." Several state legislators including Senator Jason Allen and Representative Kevin Elsenheimer are on board with the proposal and hope to introduce legislation to make it happen.

. . . maybe we could get other essentially useless politicians to submit their own pink slips. Starting, perhaps, with Governess Granholm. Suggestions, anyone?

Dennis was on Fox with Shep Smith today. And he did a fine job. At least we know we are building a good and very talented farm team to build on here in the once great state of Michigan.
