All things considered..  When my wife puts a little cash from the bottle deposits in the bank.. I KNOW about it.

Monica Conyers took bribes, admitted she took bribes, and today tried to change her mind.  The feds are saying "nuh uh.."

Prosecutors said the reason is simple: When Conyers pleaded guilty last year, she waived her right to appeal.

In March, Conyers was sentenced to 37 months in prison for a bribery conspiracy, far short of the five-year maximum.

    37 months..

    3 years, and one month..

while the taxpayers and families in the state pay for decades as the result of these types of corrupt practices. (Don't think for a second this was the only one)  All of them raising the cost of government doing business, and all them taking the ability of Detroit to recover that much further into the future.. if at all possible.

But I must ask again..  How much of John Conyers wife's outlaw activities were purposefully ignored by the lawmaker?  It seems hard to believe he was not aware of a little extra cash in the kitty..   He must have known. (ahem.. which would make him an accessory)

But then again.. in all fairness, its not like he could pay attention to anything at all however.  Given the statement about bothering to read legislation before passing it, perhaps he has in fact built a level of plausible deniability.

At a National Press Club luncheon, Conyers said, "I love these members, they get up and say, `Read the bill.' What good is reading the bill if it's a thousand pages and you don't have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?" That, from the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.

    Yeah.. that's it.

She was never in Washington when he was there. Seems it was a nice thing for him. To have time alone to pretend he wasn't married to a woman with questionable mental stability. But I do have a hard time not believing that he didn't know exactly what she was doing. But proving that he also benefited from her crimes might be a hard thing to prove. Stranger things have happened but I think at present no Federal prosecutor is going to take this on by their own initative. It would have to come from Holder and that isn't about to happen. Remember, Holder is in the same position as Jamie Gorelich was in the Clinton Justice department. He is there to run interference in special cases. Such as the Philadelphia Black Panthers case. He will never allow an ally with the juice of John Conyers to fall into any legal intanglements as long as the Progressives hold Congress. Remember this about Progressives. They figure that if you have the power it is stupid not to use it to benefit they and their allies.

...is that they are comfortable in having the IRS enforce whether or not we purchase government approved health care (see below)

yet that same IRS cannot be bothered to investigate where about $69,000 just "magically" appeared in the Conyers' tax returns.

If they cannot catch a whopper of an "oversight" such as this, what hope do they have in making sure that Americans are adhereing to Congress' health care mandate?
