Gov. Snyder Swings BIG GOVERNMENT Further Center-Left

The Democratic Party is like a mule, it has neither pride of ancestry nor hope of posterity. - Ignatius Donnelly

Yes, and so it goes with Governor Snyders' alleged reinvention of Michigan vision that clearly is choosing 'winners' and 'losers' in where Snyders' picked 'winners' will be using the Home Team for their doormat.  That's not reinventing anything new that the congresscritters in DC have been doing to us American Citizens for decades.  Folks, we've got 44 million of our fellow Americans on food stamps and a national unemployment level at 9.1%.  Michigan remains 10.2% unemployed.  So, where does Governor Snyder look for answers?  Unemployed Foreign Nationals of course.

"He has long been interested in this topic and sees the value foreign nationals can play in the new economy," said Amy Cell, senior vice president of talent enhancement, at the Michigan Economic Development Corp.

The agency is helping to lead the effort.

"This is looking at what is really the best thing for Michigan when you look at the types of opportunities that can come about from immigrants, and the contributions they make in a community."

Elected on the heels of the state's decade-long recession, Snyder has included Global Michigan in his strategic -- and sometimes controversial -- plan to get the state back on the path to prosperity.

Ain't that a b!tch?  Governor Snyder is still chasing after failed Granholm policy, just without the overseas trips.

It should also make ones skin crawl when reading the following sentence.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg even weighed in on immigrants as a way for Detroit to rebuild and to address the nation's immigration issues when he suggested that all people wanting to come to America first move to the Motor City for a few years.

Longtime UN interloper, intrusive Nanny State government  Michael Bloomberg is the ideological underpinnings that is in support of Governor Snyder?  Well, I'm not all that surprised a Lefty change agent like Bloomberg is in Snyder's corner when it comes to putting Americans last when it comes to feeding their Corporatist ego beast.  It's just what Snyder type "new money" Tripartisan artists do.

Snyder's plan is not aimed at bringing every immigrant to the state. Instead, he hopes to attract highly skilled immigrants and investors to synergize the economy.

Oh?  Please tell me exactly how Lansing plans to use our tax dollars to weed out the less educated family members of these foreigners that Governor Snyder is soliciting?  Will his alma mater U of M base do the discriminating for him?

So far, leaders of the initiative have enlisted dozens of public and private organizations, such as businesses, associations, local economic development agencies, advocacy groups and universities, to help build and execute Global Michigan, officials say.

There you have it.  Advocacy groups and Lefty universities.  What could possibly go wrong with that?

Committees have been formed to address many issues such as attraction of talent, retention of international students and working to get more foreign nationals into programs that offer visas for those who invest in state businesses with jobs for Americans.

Amazing.  Then we get Governor Snyder's Ann Arbor crony from SPARK, Ron Perry, offering up this.

"If we can create a more immigrant friendly community, attract non-Americans to come to Michigan and provide them with the environment to take their knowledge, education, great ideas and entrepreneurial spirit, and translate that into them into helping them create companies, then we will create another economic enhancement strategy here that will bring Michigan back and beyond the low that it's been at for so long."

Hey!  Howza 'bout Michigan's Home Team and their families?  Yannow, the commies in Europe coined the term Human Resources to be used in their great central planning society.  This central planning Snyder lead fiasco is little more than Affirmative Action for those without already having skin in the game.

Could there possibly be that much of a "brain drain" in this state by those that just had their pensions taxed, their Property Taxes increased, and their Income Tax Rates froze at Granholm/Dillon levels to blindly follow along with this like lemmings?

Some are opposed to the tactic.

"It would be nice if the governor focused more on suffering American citizens than people who aren't even in the country," said William Gheen of Americans for Legal Immigration, a national group based on the Web at alipac.us. "If he hasn't noticed, this country is falling apart economically and millions of Americans are suffering in ways unprecedented since the Great Depression."

No sh!t, eh?  Thank God there still is a voice of reason that merited at least two sentences making its way in our local Pravda pushing a Big Government and decidedly Lefty agenda.

of the "good economic" news for Michigan.  We are apparently, officially, out of the recession according to a report from the Free Press.

I don't know what they base their figures on but the recession is still very much affecting our business.

And I wanted to mention if before - did anyone travel for Memorial Day?  My hubby and I were shocked at the lack of travelers going north and when we got to our destination - no one was there.  The normally busy Walmart, garden centers, tourist attractions were all empty - all three days!!!
