Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

And here I thought only democrats raised taxes for the "greater" good?

Another new republican tax hike is coming up.

    Gasp.

I'm starting to sound like a broken record.

Seriously, guys! You really ought to drop all pretense of acting any differently and just call yourselves democrats. It will save us all time and will aid in field identification on Election Day.

So what new taxes are they up to now?

    {Click below the fold to find out}

After Michigan republicans displaying their democratic-ness by passing a flurry of new taxes earlier this year on businesses/professional drivers, income, seniors and...gosh, I'm getting depressed just thinking about it.

Well guess what, they're at it again.

This time, they are going after those of us who pull out own weight and have our own health insurance and aren't dependent on the state.

The governor, throught the aid of Sen. Richardville and Speaker Bolger along with drums of kool aid at the ready, will soon be proposing an "assessment" on the productive members of society, to pay for federal entitlements.

Sounds almost like that pesky Obamacare thing making the rounds lately, doesn't it?

But is anyone really surprised that the republicans will push for this?

The guv pretty much tipped his hand on this a few weeks ago.

The guv's #2 man already indicated that it was a proper role of government to get involved in health care before he even took office.

    Brewer kudos
Mark Brewer personally thanking republicans for supporting new taxes, er I mean fees.

Just blurring that line even further...

I respect and appreciate that this site has criticized Snyder and the GOP for its proposed (and in many cases implemented) tax hikes on a large swath of our population.

But I have a pet peeve that so far I haven't gotten a straight answer on from any self-identified teaparty member:

Where the are public protests on these things under the teaparty banner? Where? Snyder raised taxes on the working stiffs and seniors to the tune of $700mill (vs $500 mill for Jenny in 2007)...yet there is no organized teaparty protests about this.

    Why?

Instead it seems the teaparty has conveniently skipped right over that completely and has now decided to focus on RTW.

    Well, that's convenient!

    Come on.

Yes, Mr. Gillman, as mentioned I acknowledge and applaud the criticisms posted here. But I'm still wondering why there isn't any organized protests by the teaparty concerning these things?

Isn't it the Taxed Enough Already party? The "organized" silence doesn't compute--especially for a group that vehemently claims it's not a shill for the GOP or any party.

You are too being silent. Shill.

So there is no central organization in the teaparty, eh? People are too busy to protest and the Snyder bills were too overly complex to digest?

Funny, during the summer of Obamacare, you guys had no problem organizing protests and you further had no problem digesting legislation that was much more complex than anything on Snyder's dashboard.

    Pretty lame excuses.

Look: it's not me you have to convince. A lot of independent voters went along with the emotion you guys were throwing out there. They now feel duped by Snyder. And where's the teaparty?

    Silent.

And don't tell me about the "loose organization" thing: you guys are having no problem coordinating multi-city protests and press releases on RTW.

    Come on!

You guys were promised by Snyder that if you kept quiet on all the tax gouging Snyder is doing that Snyder would sign RTW legislation if it came to his desk.

    How'd I do? ;)

    What fitting initials hey!

BM has found time - now that school is out - to scour the blogs and throw around liberal talking points.  Let's play with him a little bit but he has worn out his welcome.

Note to BM:  I am extremely pissed about the "deals" made on the Michigan budget.  I see the bowels of state government come into our business day after day, in person, in the form of state and municipal workers from DNR, MDOT, Budget and Finance, Parks and Rec, you name it - I see them or deal with them.  It is absolutely disgusting what our hard earned tax dollars are wasted on.  And the games they play to evade a full days work for a full days dollar is even more disgusting.  I identify with the Tea Party and support them 100%, however, because I WORK, I don't always have the time to participate in Tea Party events.  However, I do have a check book and do not hesitate to donate to the cause.

Now go off and do what ever you useless teachers do during the summer.

I'm actually just wondering why you teaparty folks aren't up in arms about the massive tax hikes and the layers and layers of Big-Bro government the GOP is foisting on citizens.

So what I hear you saying is "it's not our battle now."

That's a shame--because you're wasting a great opportunity to keep those independents you fooled last year in the fold this time around. A lot of those folks are plenty ticked off at Snyder and the GOP. You teaparty folks could score major points with that demographic (let's face it: your base alone will get you nowhere) instead of stepping over the carcasses of the poor, the middle class, and seniors on your way to the next RTW rally.

    Cheers ;)
