MEA Proves Need For Freedom To Work - A Lesson

    Class is in session.

I know public teachers who are Republican.  Quite a few in fact.

    So what, right?

The point should not be lost that in any organization, there are political preferences that vary.  In any work environment, there are ideas that are different, and in the teaching environment, contrary to the wishes of progressives who would wish to program each generation of children with all manner of degenerate reasoning and backward analytical skills, there are conservative REPUBLICANS who simply wish to work , and teach and fill the minds of those children with what schools are for.

Math, Science, Reading, and writing.  And maybe a little competition training through sports and debate.

Unfortunately, those things, that are not enough for the progressive activities of the teachers unions, specifically the MEA, take a back seat to the unproductive pursuits of political goals by over zealous leftist activists within those unions.  The MEA and others like it, utilizing dues forced from Republicans within their membership work counter to the wishes of those members.

And no further evidence of this is needed than what has been presented recently by the Michigan Republican Party

    {Below}

The MIGOP issued this press release:

MEA finally admits involvement in recalls

Union bosses misled media about its support of recalls against Republicans

LANSING - The Michigan Education Association finally admitted this week that it is supporting recall efforts against Republican lawmakers - proving that it has deceived the public since April when it was first tied to the recall against Governor Rick Snyder.

"The MEA is not interested in constructive solutions to solve Michigan's problems," state GOP Chairman Bobby Schostak said today. "The union says others should sacrifice to help turn the state around. Instead of positive, productive dialogue that improves education, union bosses threaten lawmakers with recalls."

"By contrast, Governor Snyder and our state lawmakers have discussed reforms. Reform legislation was done in public, and everyone - even the MEA's paid supporters in the Legislature - engaged in the debate over reform," Schostak said. "Moreover, Governor Snyder and the Legislature did exactly what they told voters they were going to do: Reforming public education to better serve children, their parents, and taxpayers.

"The contrast in the two approaches to shaping public policy couldn't be more stark," Schostak said. "The MEA is trying to do by dishonesty and blunt intimidation what it couldn't do openly and honestly in the public square."

In April, the Michigan Republican Party, using public records and information available online, discovered strong ties between the MEA and the recall effort against the governor. Union bosses were quoted by the media denying any involvement or control over the recall group - even after the group was ordered by the MEA to change its name and did so.

"Now, the MEA is entangled in its own web of deceit - announcing that it will support recalls against Republican lawmakers, but using some of the same petition circulators who are gathering signatures against the governor," Schostak said.

"Last November, Michigan voters gave the Legislature and the governor clear marching orders: Fix Michigan," Schostak said. "Republicans will not be cowed by the MEA's heavy-handed union tactics, and will continue to do what's necessary to ensure that Michigan's students are prepared to compete in the world economy."

Where does the effort like the MEA's leave labor's moral standing with regard to its support of FORCED UNIONIZATION?  Something it and other labor agencies deny exists.

Lacking any moral standing.  That's where.

The MEA's actions drive home the point that Freedom-To-Work (Right-To-Work) MUST be passed while this house, Senate, and executive are in session.  As long as the unions have NO ACCOUNTABILITY to the members who are in the minority politically within their paying class, they will continue to flex their political will.  Thier will of course, contrary to the wishes of those who have money stolen from them for the privilege.

    Oh and Randy Richardville?

Apparently you are targeted as well sir.

Are you ready to put the boot on the throat of an agency that has such destructive ends to our political process?

The oil slick of political power leaves no Republican unscathed Mr Majority leader.

Wording of a second petition to recall state Sen. Randy Richardville, R-Monroe, from office got the go-ahead from the Monroe County Elections Commission Wednesday. ... The panel said the wording was clear enough to circulate as is.
"The petition is very short and simple and to the point," Clerk Sharon Lemasters said. "It leaves nothing to question."

I guess your friends are sneaky too, huh boss.

Stand for something.  If you are going to be targeted by unions, then at least STAND FOR SOMETHING they don't like.  The loyalties you may have thought you could buy with a few directives taken by keeper Gretchen Whitmer seem to have waned.

It is time to reign in unaccountability with a simple statement that no man or woman in Michigan shall be coerced to support the things he or she may not believe in.

Given this very press release, the Michigan GOP should openly support and encourage its membership to promote and enact Freedom to work legislation while the opportunity is at its peak.

    End of lesson.

there are very few conservative teachers left anywhere.  Two of them (husband and wife) passed away within 4 months of one another last year at ages 86 and 84.  Ed and Rose Mary were two of my favorite people and they were true conservatives to the end.  Lovely people and dedicated to their profession.  I wouldn't give two red cents to what they call teachers today.  They are lazy and products of life long Marxist indoctrination from.....teachers!!!

...the sharpest tool in the drawer.

Hell, I could've told you that several weeks ago, had anyone bothered to ask.

The odd thing here is that it's mostly the teachers and those directly working for the schools who are circulating petitions.

The local democrats and most (not all) other unions are taking a hand off approach regarding the recall.

If they had really wanted Snyder gone (hmmmmmmm), they would've easily obtained the number of signatures required to put the recall question on the ballot.

With all of the vitriol and protesting earlier this year, one can't help but wonder why they aren't more active?

Lessons?  Yessiree.  GoverNerd Limpd!ck brought all this chaos on the taxpaying residents of Michigan with his Pro-Abort Dr. Joe Schwarz fence sitting Democrat backed 'tough nerd' campaign.  Joe should've been the lesson in '08.

The MI-GOP Weiser RINO Chair went along with the union fellating agenda so the Party owns this too.  Nothing was learned from the Weiser backed John McAmnesty '08 disaster.  Bobby the meatball isn't saving any face with this late in the game press-ure release.  Bobby, how's that finding a Stabenow challenger thing workin' out for ya?

SEIU Randy has creds that demonstrates he isn't going to buck a stridently balled Gretchen on FTW/RTW.

The real lesson?  Wisconsin had their priorities in order as a Party from the start.  MI-GOP didn't.  Again.  Pu$$y's.  Snyder, Calley, Nofs, Richardville most disgusting of all.  Bolger?  Major disappointment and nowhere the leader that he claimed to be.

Let them all be recalled.  They earned it.  Spineless RINOs only looking for their next position in the elected class.  Besides, even if a Democrat replaces them, at least I know upfront the screwing that is coming instead of playing the pale pastel waiting game that is happening now.  Saves energy that way.

I know for a fact that the MEA hasn't been involved in any organizational way on recalls up until now. Aside from first-hand knowledge that this claim is false, I present some very simple proof: had they been at it full force like some here are suggesting, most of these recalls would be further along than they are right now. Think about it ;)

Have MEA members individually taken part? Sure. I signed the Snyder recall. But I did so on my own time and I surely didn't need the MEA to tell me to go do that.

You folks need to relax. Next thing you're going propose is that it was the MEA behind the Grassy Knoll in Dallas.

NOW they are involved. NOW you have something to bitch about. NOW you'll see real progress in the selected recalls.

That statement is false (none / 0) (#16)
by BillMilligan on Mon Jul 11, 2011 at 11:23:37 AM EST
I did read that paragraph. It's a lie, so I didn't address it. The author is assuming the MEA has always been behind these recalls and is just now admitting it. I contend, and I know for a fact, that they are just now organizationally becoming involved.

So perhaps in reading my post and misinterpreting it, you should take the speed-reading course? ;)

I criticize the MEA when it deserves criticism. But at least they're out there now and doing this under their own name and not a front group of a front group (as you guys have hatched yet another front of the teaparty to do this RTW thing).

    Get real.

You're throwing some huge stones for living in such a fragile glass house yourself.

Well, I knew I risked losing brain cells coming over here. Thanks for killing some more off, Scales.

    Jesus.

I'll leave you to go back to digging your bunker. Kroger is having a sale on canned goods. Gander Mountain, ammo.

    Hurry along now...

Took a few moments to dig this up in the archives, but I found the original smoking gun on firericksnyder.org.

Most political action committees in Michigan need to register with the state.  Michigan Citizens United has registered with the state.  I checked the state database for Michigan Citizens United and found some information on them.  (I'll post links and references to verify my findings at the end of my article.  No need for you to wade through all my evidence up front, just to read my findings.)

Gail P. Schmidt is listed as the treasurer of Michigan Citizens United PAC (1). Gail P. Schmidt is a field assistant on the 12-D coordinating council of the Michigan Education Association (MEA) and also services a unit in 12-CE.(2). Another resource has her listed as an administrative assistant for the Michigan Education Association(3).

This gives us a window in to who or what is behind the recall of Michigan governor Rick Snyder and the Michigan Citizens United PAC.  It's safe to assert there is a link between Michigan Citizens United PAC and someone working with the Michigan Education Association (MEA).

BillMilligan, don't come on here unless you come prepared.
