    Headline:

Northville teachers pay 900% more for health care in new contract

Ya, that ought to get all the public sector goonion slugs revving up their recalls.

Mission accomplished for the "crying" looney Left, Lori.

But, like most things written in the Detroit Free Press (ironic in itself), it's a farce.

Looking past the propaganda headline the truth begins to come out.

    Highlights of the agreement:

There will be an overall 4% pay cut. Teachers at the top of the pay scale will see a 5% cut

OK, let's check this out.  Got it... page 43, District Code 82390... average salaries... $72,500.00  ...and Northville is ranked 35th highest paid in the state?  WTF?  So, with that 4% cut we're really talking about an average $2,900.00 less pay for a 180 day a year job.  Cry me a river.  Try going without pay raises and still paying for overcompensated teachers.

Two furlough days are to be taken Jan. 27 and June 15

I can double down on that with the four mandatory vacation days used on the week of the Forth of July in the private sector to control costs.

Teachers eligible for a step raise will receive a quarter-step increase in each of the two years

Ah-ha!  There it is... "Teachers eligible" or the union seniority clause.  Yannow, these union Looters in Northville were just in the MCC about their ridiculous raises and so was discussion of damn Step Raises.  So much for that "pay cut" having any substantive meaning to taxpayers at the end of two years with entrenched tenure Looters.

Teachers will begin paying 20% of their health care premiums immediately

Hey wait a minute... What happened to the "900% more" in Lori's headline?  Paying 20% for health care premiums is a helluva lot less than what I paid when I was Ford GSR.  And this 20% is now new to these union Looters too?  Ya, cry me a river.

On Jan. 1, they'll switch to a less expensive plan that includes a $1,250 annual deductible for individual coverage and $2,500 for family coverage. The district will pay 80% of the deductible. The average teacher will go from paying about $350 a year for health care coverage to about $3,500 a year.

Holy crap!  They were paying $350 per year?  Amazing.  Health care for less than $1 a day.  And now them chipping in 20% towards the cost of their health care equates to $3,500?  Exactly WTF kind of gold plated insurance do these 180 days a year union workers actually have?  And the taxpayers in Northville are going to pick up 80% of their deductibles too?  Bob King's boys at Solidarity House look like a bunch of pansies compared to the vipers in the MEA.

    Now here's a kicker...

Parent-teacher conferences will be by request only and only one evening session will be held, instead of two.

Request only and you only get to inconvenience the Education Aristocrats for one day to do it?  WTF is that?  Ya, these teachers are all about involvement in their profession and educating young minds in Michigan.  It really shows when they forced layoffs when they wouldn't budge on bloated wages which results in increased class sizes and now they don't want to deal with parents that are active in their children's education for more than one day.  They all need to be fired for that being a contract demand.  Disgusting.  Time for a new school board Northville.

Teachers assigned to two special education centers in the district will see an additional 2.5% pay cut because of a reduction in work days and schedule changes.

    The association includes 400 members.

The contract concessions will save the district $6.5 million over the two years of the contract. It will also help the district reinstating 26 of the 52.5 teaching positions that were eliminated in May in an effort to balance the budget, according to a news release from the district.

There's the teachers unions bottom line.  They got half their laid off dues payers back on the gummint dole at no real pay cut to fill the unions coffers.

Damn good thing I wasn't elected governor or school districts all across this state would've been empowered with Right-to-Work Law giving them the ability to plant a help wanted sign outside looking for new applicants.

These are the same yutzes who continually clamor for amnesty for illegals and just had the light bulb kick in that Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac are royally screwed up, among other things.

I hear that next week they figured out all on their own that taxpayers are hurting financially.
