Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

Snatching Defeat From The Jaws Of Victory

If I were running against Stabenow, this from the Nerd would make my a$$ pucker.

Snyder and Hoekstra made the announcement in Southfield. Governors usually avoid picking favorites in a contested primary, but Snyder said Hoekstra is needed in the Senate to fix a "broken" Washington.

Snyder said "it was an easy call" to endorse Hoekstra, even though he typically stays out of federal issues as governor.

"He brings a complete suite of great experience," Snyder said, citing the Holland Republican's integrity and background.

    But, it's only Pete...

    You beat me to it. (5.00 / 1) (#1)

Business and another thread has messed up my scheduled poke at Hoek.

I wonder if Snyder is trying to gain some union sympathy (Hoekstra being their guy) with his endorsement, or if it is a play by the MiGOP through him to try and solidify behind a candidate (the one with all that hawse pipe time) so we don't "risk" losing to the lamest US Senator Michigan has ever produced.

    I'm Undecided, this doesn't help Hoekstra's cause (5.00 / 1) (#2)

I'll vote for Hoekstra over Stabenow, but if you're trying to win my support in a primary, a tax raising Snyder endorsement does not exactly help matters.

    Here's where were at . . . (1.00 / 1) (#4)

. . . thus far in the Michigan Senate Primary:

    In it:

    • Chad Dewey (Midland)
    • Clark Durant (Detroit)
    • Randy Hekman (Grand Rapids)
    • Pete Hoekstra (Holland)
    • Peter Konetchy (Roscommon)

    Thinking about it:
    • Scott Boman (Detroit)
    • Rick Wilson (Grand Blanc)

If the Michigan Tea Party Patriot Network is smart (and have learned their lesson from 2010), then they'll coalesce as a unit behind one and only one of the truly conservative candidates.  Exactly which one that should be should remain up for debate until about a week before the May filing deadline.

Whoever is the nominee (none / 0) (#12)

We have to make sure that we drop the backbiting and sour grapes once the nominee is set (yes, even if it's Hoekstra). Unlike the gubernatorial contest, Stabenow is well funded and well positioned to fend off a challenger. That pig would love nothing more than to have a half-backed GOP candidate go up against her. We need to make sure we stand strong together and send that clown-faced, socialist b&*% packing in 2012.

O'Donnell was a flake from the very beginning and everyone knew it. I'm not saying that she didn't get unfairly tarred and feathered by the mainstream press, but if it walks like a duck...
