Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

    Durant Comes Out Swinging

I was surprised to see this story this morning about Bob Lutz endorsing Clark Durant in his Senate bid against Debbie Stabenow (or Pete Hoekstra for that matter).  Is this primary race shaping up to be a clash of the titans?  It seems like the endorsements are coming "fast and furious" and much earlier than usual for a race like this.  The Makinac Conference, the unofficial start of the campaign season here in Michigan, doesn't start until the 23rd and Durant hasn't even "officially" announced his candidacy yet.  I am seeing comparisons between the Lutz endorsement and Gov. Snyder's as being politicians vs. business sector.  What do you think?

Car whiz Lutz to help Clark Durant

General Motors adviser Bob Lutz likes Michigan charter school executive Clark Durant so much that he's signing on as the Republican U.S. Senate candidate's general finance chairman.

Lutz told The Associated Press in an interview that Durant has "impeccable" business credentials, is a compassionate conservative and would be the best Republican to run against Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow in 2012. The well-known auto design guru's high profile could be a bonus for Durant, who's facing former U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra and three others in the GOP race.

So far, I've been leaning towards Peter Konetchy based on what I've seen here on when he was on OTR last month.

Bob Lutz is a new variable that should be paid very close attention to.

Unlike Rick Snyder who screwed over Gateway, from my readings of what went down, Bob Lutz tried to warn about the impending automotive collapse...only to be stopped by people who only look at spreadsheets like Synder.

If Lutz sees something there, I'll be keeping an eye on Durant as well.

The source for Bob Lutz being the guy who warned of impending doom at GM is...Bob Lutz. I'm taking that with a HUGE grain of salt considering that there are few better self-promoters in the auto industry than Bob Lutz. There's a good reason why he bounced between 4 major car companies in his career.

    This is BIG endorsement (1.00 / 1) (#4)

As politicians and Washington insiders endorse others...Clark Durant keeps picking up conservative activists and business leaders who share the need for an "outsider"...someone who's not a "creature" of Washington.

    Read his actual letter...very powerful.

Who wouldn't want to have the clown who killed Saturn as an endorsement?

Bob Lutz seems to have a lot of supporters considering that he's been the Typhoid Mary of the US auto industry for a few decades.
