Detroit - General Motors today announced the roll out of two new hybrid vehicles, one called the "Hammer," and the other, "Sickle."  The ultra compact 3 cylinder combination solar/ethanol vehicles will be a new part of the Cadillac line, and will be available only in the color blood red, and scheduled to be available for the 75th anniversary of the Chinese cultural revolution of 1939.

OK, suck the morning coffee back through your nose. Its not real. But why should I even have to note THAT fact?  Its absurd, right?

Truth of the matter, is that nearly nothing can be ruled out as absurd any longer.  From this current administration to the entities that have somehow become the responsibility of the nation's taxpayers, the separation of government and business has collapsed to the point that it is LOGICAL to expect such ridiculous arrangements as the opening paragraph presented.

    Especially when seeing this:

"The CCP's state-run China Film Group produced a big-budget propaganda film called "The Birth of a Party," or depending on how the title is translated, "The Great Achievement of Founding the Party."  The latter sounds more like what they were shooting for.  The "chief business partner" in this venture was General Motors brand Cadillac ..."

Yeah. Government Motors has never been so real.

William C Durant has now rolled fully over in his grave.  The high school drop out turned manufacturer, would surely be SICK to see what has happened to the company he once used to bring together a great number of models and makes.

    Good Luck GM. Never again.

    Perfect GoverNerd timing... (none / 0) (#1)

    ...on this topic promoting Communism.

To reverse the trend, Snyder and his team are relying on formidable Michigan players -- General Motors Co. and Ford Motor Co., Dow Chemical Co. and top law firms, the University of Michigan and Michigan State University -- to open doors with Chinese business leaders, politicians and bureaucrats.

Yep, can't do anything without approval from the ambulance chasers.  And, why put the spoils of a failed governorship on the back-burner when the costly GreenTard movement is actively entrenched at Dow?

The goal: To market Michigan as ripe for jobs-creating capital, be it through acquisition (see Pacific Century Motors' purchase from GM of Saginaw-based Nexteer Automotive Corp.) or direct investment by Chinese players looking for footholds (and credibility) in the rich U.S. market.

Nexteer?  Now there's a Frilliant example.  Allow me to recall what that ChiCom and goonion labor fellating scheme cost taxpayers in Michigan.

A year ago, the Michigan Economic Development Corp.'s Michigan Economic Growth Authority approved a state tax credit valued at $70.7 million over 10 years to encourage Nexteer to expand in Michigan over competing sites in Europe and China...

In turn, Buena Vista Township approved a 20-year, 100 percent tax abatement, meaning the company will not pay township taxes for 20 years on any equipment it brings in starting this year.

Yep, crony capitalist ruling class and those living in denial that elect them keep chasing after scraps while crapping on the home team.

The governor says he also wants to showcase potential Michigan products for exports to the vast Chinese market. Agricultural candidates include blueberries, corn and soybeans from across the Lower Peninsula; commodities from the Upper Peninsula include timber and mining materials; and manufactured goods include auto parts and materials to produce solar panels.

Ah yes, the GoverNerds Big Agri illegals.  Swell, just swell.  Auto part exports?  BWAAHAHAHAHAHAHA.  Sorry, wrong way on that one.  Materials to produce solar panels?  That must mean coerced gummint monies will be sent to the ChiComs just like it was sent to India.

    Disgusting.
