Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

No wonder these democrats are crying for more money before they get taken over by the state?

    I'm in the wrong business.

What was I thinking getting up at the butt-crack of dawn, jumping in my truck, dealing with four-wheelers and other various headaches throughout the day? Getting home, doing errands around the house and starting the whole thing up again the next day?

I can call myself a democrat, get myself elected by a group of low-grade morons and live the Life of Riley...

    But, I won't!

    I'm better than that.

And I damn sure know that I'm better than the latest piece of flotsam to hit the headlines today.

    So who is it now?

    {Click below the fold to find out}

I've written several pieces so far about the state takeovers of local government from the people who have clearly demonstrated that they should not be anywhere near anything involving a.) money, and b.) making difficult decisions.

It's just not in their DNA to be responsible leaders.

    Period!

The latest reprobate to hit the headlines should be familiar to those who've read what I've written so far.

He was a player in the tragedy known as the City of Detroit.

He was an officer on the Highland Park School Board.

And now union catspaw Robert Davis has some 'splainin to do.

According to The Detroit Free Press, the good Mr. Davis was able to scam at least $177,000 from the Highland Park Schools since about 2005.

    Oh, and it gets better!

About $84,000 of that was spent on dining and bar tabs, custom tailored clothes, travel expenses, hotels and shopping sprees at stores and malls.

The remaining $86,000 was withdrawn from a sham organization Mr. Davis created called "Citizens United to Save Highland Park Schools" in cash. Whereabouts apparently unknown

But hey, with a name like that you know he got to be on the level, right?

    Then feds didn't think so.

They indicted him on April 5th of this year.

What makes this situation even more pitiful is the reaction from his fellow school board members.

According to an affidavit they also released, this is their response regarding the missing money:

"None of the current or former Highland Park school officials or employees who were interviewed during the course of this investigation had ever heard of Citizens United to Save Highland Park Schools"

    {facepalm}

    Are they really that stupid?!?

Do they take us to be as stupid as they are?

    You've "lost" at least $177,000!

You have expenditures made out to a group that no one has even heard of nor ever bothered to question.

    Doesn't anyone read budgets?

    Doesn't anyone question reports?

And people wonder why these districts and cities are failing financially?

I've made the call earlier, and I'll make it again: Why isn't our own AG Schuette taking these people down?

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that the feds are doing what our own state government is obviously unwilling to do.

But you're going to have many, many more local governments and districts going tango-uniform in the coming months. That fact is a given.

Time for Lansing to look at getting more pre-emptive with the financial emergency law, and time for them to also be making some examples at those who caused the mess in the first place.

"Fire in the hands of children can result in devastating consequences," said State Fire Marshal Richard W. Miller.

But, for negligent fiduciary responsibility; its the shizzle.
