What a set-up to cover for Nansee. via The Detroit News

Former state Sen. Nancy Cassis said Friday she has filed enough petition signatures to get on the ballot for a special primary to fill the seat left vacant when U.S. Rep. Thaddeus McCotter resigned from Congress.

Cassis of Novi said she filed 2,000 signatures, twice the minimum needed to qualify for the election. Also filing Friday for the Republican nomination are Kenneth Crider, with 1,100 signatures, Steve King, with 1,200, and Carolyn Kavanagh, with 1,276. All three are from Livonia.

    Rest

The City of Livonia should be ashamed.  David Curson who?  Nice 'deal' with Brewer, Bobby.

And from where the hell does she get that one? (none / 0) (#1)

"... or a Republican who believes President Bush and Vice-President Cheney were responsible for the 9/11 terrorist attack on America."

Perhaps she believes that simply saying so enough times will cause enough people to believe it.

    Oh, and exactly as I predicted . . . (5.00 / 1) (#3)

. . . elsewhere, Mark Brewer is wasting no opportunity that Bobby Schostak provides him to make the MIGOP look foolish:

"First, Congressman Thad McCotter decided to quit on his constituents and force a special election for the remainder of his term," Brewer said in a statement. "Then, five Republicans filed today to run for the seat, forcing a wasteful primary election to be held on Sept. 5. The actions of Michigan Republican Party -- the party that claims to support fiscal responsibility -- are causing this situation, which will result in taxpayers footing the bill to the tune of $650,000."

    Clearly.
