    Nugent, NRA Members Endorse MacMaster

Good to see folks know better.

Considering the ridiculous assertion by Wayne Schmidt in 2012 that he was a superior gun rights advocate with his deceptive bright orange mailer which stated: "Vote on August 7 to protect your gun rights"; with no candidate carrying anti gun views in competition at that time.  The implication that voting for the challenger (myself) would imperil such rights was frankly, "Nutty"

Schmidt's progressive attitude with regard to big government, complete streets, expensive transportation schemes, expansion of welfare, and pandering to whomever is in power demonstrates a left of center (read: Democrat) socio-type,  and should hardly leave anyone comfortable with him protecting such rights anyhow.  And as for the gun positions, in 2012, he wasn't even rated by Michigan Coalition For Responsible Gun Owners like most other candidates.

So seeing the endorsements by these sportsmen and business leaders on this issue has a very receptive place in my heart.

    The truth shall prevail.

On the opening day of firearms season, 18 prominent Michigan sportsmen and National Rifle Association (NRA) members announced their endorsement of Rep. Greg MacMaster (R-Kewadin) for State Senate in the 37th District.

The NRA in previous elections has endorsed MacMaster.

MacMaster is running to succeed Senator Howard Walker (R-Traverse City) who declined to seek reelection. The list of today's endorsers includes:

Ted Nugent Entertainer; Sportsman; NRA Board Member
    Mark Baker Owner, Baker Farms
    Brian Drettman Owner, Drettman Ranch
    Jim Gauthier Owner Gauthier Archery
    Vos Guntzviller Owner, Guntzviller Taxidermy
Greg Johnson Owner, Bear Mountain LLC
Greg Pardee Owner, Hilltop Pheasant Farms
    Roger Turnin Owner, Hunting Ranch
    Ron McKendrick Owner, Renegade Ranch
    John Haggard Sportsman
    Dick Kleinhardt Sportsman
    Connie Kleinardt Sportswoman
John Pampu Sportsman; Big John Sports
    Mike Borkovich Sportsman; NRA Member
    Art Harvey Sportsman; NRA Member
    Frank McFadden Sportsman; NRA Member
    Marty Mullen Sportsman; NRA Member
    Jerry Williams Sportsman; NRA Member

"Greg MacMaster is a friend of Michigan's sportsmen and a staunch defender of our Second Amendment rights. The National Rifle Association has endorsed him in the past, I'm endorsing him today, and I encourage all sportsmen and patriots to endorse him on Election Day,"
    said Nugent.
"As upwards of 700,000 hunters take to the field today for the beginning of firearms season, we are thankful for Greg MacMaster's leadership in protecting our hunting heritage. I'm proud to endorse him for State Senate,"
    said Haggard.

    MacMaster, in acknowledging the endorsements:

"I'm grateful for the support of these respected leaders, and I look forward to working with them as our area's next State Senator"

The MacMaster campaign said that additional major endorsements would be announced in the near future.

Perhaps, one of the finest, if not, the most respectable Man that I've encountered in our flyover parts - Mark Baker.

His word is Bond.  That's something that is a truly rare commodity these days.

Greg MacMaster, has my support coming shortly way of snailmail.  Others, click here.

To note: Rep. Peter Pettalia, you were advised of consequences for your actions.
