Some things just don't make any sense.

Such is the diatribe from a self important Greg McNeilly, who wishes the Tea Party Types to leave the Republican party.  Labeling Conservatives Magpies and Malcontents and even

"... Many of them are actually an invasive species, they are not Republicans."
    says the political operative.

While many of us are at the conference building connections and assuring the long term strength of a Conservative Republican Party that actually has SOME foundation that is worth defending, a spinning political homunculus assumes the role of who is, and who is not, of importance to the party of Reagan.

    Go figure.

Closet progressives, like Mr. McNeilly here, are nothing less than an impediment to real conservative victories.

People like him succeed by telling candidates that it's alright to waste campaign resources PAYING for things like people to handle the nuts and bolts portion of any effective campaign; lit distribution and phone banks, when you had a pool of volunteers at the ready to do that for you at no cost whatsoever.

Driving away a large pool of potential donors is also a sure-fire way to hand the race over to the democrats.

The first part of that article should also make anyone who considers themselves a true conservative blood boil when anyone from the Marx/Engles-wing of the democratic party makes this glowing statement about them in public:

"Governor, I'm kind of looking to framing this with the picture of my dad when Franklin Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act," U.S. Rep. John Dingell told Snyder on Monday at a Medicaid bill-signing ceremony at a Dearborn hospital. "Because it's going to rank with that and with that day."

Oh yeah, that should play real well when the guv officially announces his re-election bid.
