  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

I am not at all sure whether Steele still has it, or if Michigan's Saul Anuzis or any other contender could pull it together, but its my opinion the national GOP is in trouble.

NOT necessarily the Republican party mind you, but the finances of the GOP going into the 2012 election cycle.

Establishment Newt Gingrich, the man who sat on a couch next to the enemy of America and Michigan, (Nancy Pelosi)promoting green policies can go pack tuna with her for all I care.  His open congratulations tonight to Lisa Murkowskee (spelled wrong.. take a vote off please) tonight really drives home his allegiance to the status quo, and willingness to go along with whomever might be there to advance his political agenda.   She should have been excoriated for her refusal to accept the will of the Republicans, and particularly the conservative Republicans in the primary fight.  Any worthwhile committee assignments should have been withdrawn once she OPPOSED a Republican candidate.

But Ill bet there are folks who think there is a similarity to NY 23rd right? Newt was wrong THERE as well. Think not?  If there was a primary vote in the 23rd you might be right... otherwise...

There is no question that motivated conservatives, traditionalists, (whatever you want to call them) etc., who associate themselves with the still growing tea party movement, have made a difference.  Long time Democrats and Republicans both have been uprooted and thrown aside this election cycle, due to a seeming inability to control spending and abide by constitutional principle.

Tuesday marked an incredible testament to this fact with an Northern surprise.  And it also gave a glimmer of where non party weaknesses may lay.

The (at this point) win by Alaskan Joe Miller in a squeaker over a sitting US Senator in the Republican primary, would in prior years, be the unthinkable.  In fact, even this year, it was considered merely a remote possibility,  yet it happened with the help of Palin's blessing and the tea party types.  Alternately, some will point to the Arizona US Senate race race as a repudiation of the tea party contingent in THAT state.

But hold the phone.  Palin also endorsed the winner in AZ.
