  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

The 2013 Update of the Freedom Index is out.

The Freedom Index: A Congressional Scorecard Based on the U.S. Constitution rates congressmen based on their adherence to constitutional principles of limited government, fiscal responsibility, national sovereignty, and a traditional foreign policy of avoiding foreign entanglements. The percentages below are cumulative scores are based on key votes from 1999 through 2013. Click on a senator's or representative's name to get a detailed breakdown of his or her voting record.

    Michigan

    Sen. Carl Levin - 13%
    Sen. Debbie Stabenow - 18%
    Dist.1: Dan Benishek - 70%
    Dist.2: Bill Huizenga - 76%
    Dist.3: Justin Amash - 93%
    Dist.4: Dave Camp - 53%
    Dist.5: Daniel Kildee - 30%
    Dist.6: Fred Upton - 48%
    Dist.7: Tim Walberg - 71%
    Dist.8: Mike Rogers - 51%
    Dist.9: Sander Levin - 16%
    Dist.10: Candice Miller - 51%
    Dist.11: Kerry Bentivolio - 80%
    Dist.12: John Dingell - 21%
    Dist.13: John Conyers - 28%
    Dist.14: Gary Peters - 15%

48? 51? 53 percent constitutionally competent?  We KNOW the Democrats have abandoned any allegiance to the constitution, but its truly disturbing how 'our side' has characters that would so willingly disregard the TRUE rule of law.

Ultimate Racebaiter: Dem Congressman (Who Supports Occupy Grp) Lies About Being 1/2 Black to Get Votes

My favorite political story of the last week is that of Democrat U.S. Congressman Hansen Clarke of Detroit. He's running to be my Congressman and-needless to say-won't be getting my vote. He advocates the most wacky ideas and is an Occupy supporter and sympathizer. Far-left is a compliment for him. He's off the deep end. Throughout his political career as a state legislator and now as a Congressman, he's always maintained that he's half-Black. His father, a Bangladeshi Muslim alien, was obviously Asian. But there is now a lot of doubt regarding whether or not he's really half-Black. His mother's death certificate was dug up by one of Clarke's many opponents, and per years of rumors, it lists her as White.

    Rest here

Money quote?  "...and wouldn't wear a tie."  That says it all, Nerd voters.  So, is Detroit going to BLAST Hansen too?  I won't be holding my breath.

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

...they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

This congressional election should be rather entertaining.

Saying new leadership is needed in Washington, D.C., Sen. Bert Johnson, D-Highland Park, officially got into the race for 13th Congressional District and will likely challenge veteran U.S. Rep. John Conyers.

Hmmm, a feeble old socialist that won't talk about that Papas deep injection well and whose wifey is locked up in the Federal pen, or...

Johnson served in the state House of Representatives from 2005-10 and was elected to the state Senate in 2010. He said he expects to raise up to $600,000 for the race.

One thing he'll have to face is a 1993 conviction of armed robbery, which he calls a "transgression" when he was 19 and working as a golf caddy at the Oakland Hills Country Club.

So, working in the burb's sticking guns in peoples faces is some silly "transgression".

    But wait, there's more!
