    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

As Michigan Gas Prices Jump Stabenow Blames President?

During an official weekly Democratic radio address, Stabenow encourage listeners to call the President about gas prices. Kinda.

Gas prices across Michigan skyrocketed overnight as the average price for a gallon of gas in Michigan jumped to 15 cents ($4.060) higher than the national average ($3.911). The prices are affecting Michigan drivers, and likely to affect food and hard goods pricing as well.

Senator Debbie Stabenow blamed the President and encouraged citizens to call the President and Congress, "[T]ell them that you're fed up with record gas prices, and you want a plan that puts people first."  Senator Debbie Stabenow blamed the President for the price of gas during the official Democratic Radio Address, May 8, 2008.

Disingenuous partisan rhetoric, or does Stabenow blame President Obama like she blamed President Bush?

When a Republican occupied the White House, Stabenow blamed gas prices on the President. Michigan Republican Party Chairman Bobby Schostak has now demanded Stabenow hold President Obama to the same standard. Said Schostak in a recent release:

"These unaffordable gas prices are hurting families, could cripple our economy and middleclass taxpayers deserve to know why Senator Stabenow refuses to hold Pres. Obama accountable. The sad reality is Debbie Stabenow puts rhetoric and politics ahead of people, she refuses to pursue policies that will lower gas prices for families, she refuses to support the Keystone pipeline, and she refuses to stand up to the President.

It is saddening and disappointing that Michigan families struggle to fill up their gas tanks because Stabenow and Obama fail to pursue a common sense energy policy.

Stabenow is well known for her rhetoric, this time it's come back to bite her, does she stand by her remarks, that taxpayers should blame the President for gas prices, or will she walk back from her rhetoric and apologize to voters for making partisan comments?"

    Yeah.

By golly, you cant say something, establish a position, and then because it doesn't fit YOUR favorite person's purposes, change your mind.

    BAD Debbie.  BAD!
