    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

What a set-up to cover for Nansee. via The Detroit News

Former state Sen. Nancy Cassis said Friday she has filed enough petition signatures to get on the ballot for a special primary to fill the seat left vacant when U.S. Rep. Thaddeus McCotter resigned from Congress.

Cassis of Novi said she filed 2,000 signatures, twice the minimum needed to qualify for the election. Also filing Friday for the Republican nomination are Kenneth Crider, with 1,100 signatures, Steve King, with 1,200, and Carolyn Kavanagh, with 1,276. All three are from Livonia.

    Rest

The City of Livonia should be ashamed.  David Curson who?  Nice 'deal' with Brewer, Bobby.

You'd think that, after the shellacking that Saul Anuzis received a couple of months ago, the Michigan Republican Party would've got the hint that the grassroots in this here state isn't putting up with their crap anymore.  Given that there's already a project underway to break the cycle of abusive behavior of state party leadership by replacing the corrupted party leadership (all the way down to the county party level, where necessary), you'd think that the elites would consider themselves on notice that getting their RINO asses in line is going to be the only way that they save their skins during the internal party elections that will be following the November general election.

Apparently, someone at MIGOP didn't get the memo.

I happened to catch this yesterday at mlive.com

Michigan Democratic Party Chair Mark Brewer has confirmed to MIRS that the party is helping with the Wisconsin recalls on today's ballot.

"State Democratic parties have a long history of helping each other," Brewer told MIRS. ". . . We're trying to help 'em."

    The results?

The Michigan Democrat Party has released its proposed redistricting plan for the Michigan state senate. I previously released two possible maps and discussed the standards that such maps must follow.

The latest news on the <strike>democratic-party backed</strike> Tea Party Party, took an unusual twist today.

Did Jason Bauer and Michael McGuinness pray to the great and all-powerful Obama for guidance?

Did MDP Chair Mark Brewer appear in a pink tutu and confess to planning the whole thing (and then gripe that he woulda gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those pesky, meddling Right Michigan kids)?

    {Shudder}

Okay, so maybe it wasn't that unusual.

Building on their major wins - A Monday Kick Start

By golly, the Michigan Democrats are staying the course with Mark Brewer signed on for yet another term as party chair.

Only in the Democrat party could the 'shellacking' of 2010 be considered worthy of a repeat.  And only in the Michigan Democrat party, an institution which continually attempts to deceive the voters with front causes like the RMGN effort that attempted to change the state constitution, and form fake alternate parties to 'siphon' potential opposing votes would the November 2010 election be seen as a mandate to keep such wonderful leadership.

Yes dear reader, the Michigan Dems have proven once again, they not only tolerate failure, but they revel in it. As the Detroit News reports he won easily:

The proceedings were interrupted three times by boos. A challenger to party Chair Mark Brewer claimed the party squelched his voice. He also claimed the party is being run by "elites" who ignore diversity.

    Brewer easily won re-election.

Oh my..  ignore that other stuff.

Don't forget, this is the party of Carl (Karl) Levin (Lenin) and Debbie (I feel it.. from seat 3A) Stabenow.  The choosers and controllers have obviously made great choices in backing these high caliber (disclaimer - NOT a gun reference) candidates and they have won a great number of elections during their tenure.  Why who else could be present to ride alongside and in unison with, the downfall of the greatest nation that ever existed on the planet.  Certainly not the peasantry who mistakenly think the Democrats speak for them. or work in their best interest. So put those hurtful words away little Democrat, you are hurting the party.
