  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

"Sincere, but they were about the past." or something like that

It sure didn't take long for the Dingellosaurus to do the Walk Back.

"I have a tremendous amount of confidence in Mayor Bing, and my comments about Detroit yesterday were a reflection on past Administrations that helped dig the hole the city finds itself in, not on the current Administration that is trying desperately to get the city out of the hole.  I am and always have worked for the betterment of the City and its people, and I intend to continue that course..."

Okay, Bing deserved the feigned apology.  But.  That wasn't what Johnny was "sniping".  Dingell was blatantly "targeting" Governors.  Unmistakably that'd have to point to fellow Democrat Governor Jennifer Granholm.  Not to mention Dingells' reference to all "Stone-Agers" err, Conservative Republicans.

Oh, Johnny... is there anything that he won't say?

Johnny, it's your fellow Democrats ideology that's failed

There once was a show on HBO called Tales from the Crypt that instantly came to mind when reading today's JOA News.  Yes, Dearborn's very own Congressman Dingell or, the Crypt Keeper if you will, was busy playing a soft race-baiting card for the City of Detroits' $8,000,000,000.00 debt and "Targeting" Michigan's Republican legislature.

Washington-- Rep. John Dingell on Tuesday said the city of Detroit is in dire straits and needs state intervention to recover economically.

"Michigan cannot exist with Detroit the way that it is," Dingell told students at his alma mater, Georgetown University, when asked about the state's ability to rebuild without Detroit. "I haven't yet seen a governor who wants to appoint somebody.

    "Every governor is afraid."

Exactly where has the "Dean of the House" been for the past 8 years?  I don't recall Johnny talking this way during his fellow Democrat Governor Granholm reign that was preoccupied with running the entire state into the ground.  Did the City of Detroit just magically become a cesspool of corruption, poverty and indebtedness on January 1, 2011 when Governor Snyder assumed Office?  Nope.  I suspect there's more to this new interest in Detroit than Johnny is leading onto...
