  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

I suppose that true conservatives are considered  interlopers nowadays.

Even within the Republican ranks, good conservatives who carry strong convictions, and won't be bullied to become moderate are labeled as 'extreme'. Labeled in ways that are more harsh than what they would call the reversed polarity party of the Democrats; a party THEY SAY that sites like this should be attacking, before challenging Republicans.

At the convention as I was speaking with a 1st district delegate and past chair, I was reminded that we are expected to stay in line until fully vested in all manner of the process. Though she would not acknowledge the suggested verbiage of "waiting our turn", she said nothing that would support anything but a path of subservience to the powers-that-be first. "You cant't just jump in and be chair, Jason!" She exclaimed after losing patience with the successful whip efforts in our district. I wonder where she was in 2010?

I didn't hear her say then; "You can't just jump in and be GOVERNOR!" to the guy who had WON with 64% of Republicans opposing him.

I guess its just about the money.  Cause that makes it OK.

I reckon that being truthful plays all kinds of hell on an Executive who pushed through the DIA Tax on his county, and on a Governerd swirling tax dollars down the drain on excess, and extravagance while the bodies pile, and anarchy descends.

    via The Detroit News

The Michigan Republican Party on Tuesday pulled a cable TV ad that bashes Detroit while touting Oakland County's GOP.

County Executive L. Brooks Patterson saw the 34-second ad and asked state GOP Chairman Bobby Schostak on Tuesday to pull it, saying it was unnecessarily negative.

Patterson, who is undergoing rehabilitation for injuries suffered in a car crash, received a resounding no, spokesman Bill Mullan said.

"I've always run political campaigns built on positive messages. My campaign has asked the independent entity that produced this ad to take it down, but they've refused," Patterson said in a statement on Tuesday. "Detroit has its challenges. But my administration has always tried to be part of the solution."

And, folks still try to tell me that there is a Two Party system.  Again .. Shut up, Brooks.  Your 73-year-old duplicitous tongue needs to head out to pasture, and tell tales of how you remember your legend to your grandchildren.  Everything has a built in obsolescence, Brooks - you, like this dangerous fossil, have finally met yours.

    That is fact.

Michigan's Soon To Be Gone Governor - Tinker Bell or Barbarella?

The Cap Con's Tom Gantert today writes about our executive destroyer's politico op-ed, and how she offers advice to the rest of the country on how to create jobs:

Granholm served as a guest op-ed writer for the national news site POLITICO. Saying the nation needs a "moon shot" jobs strategy to create 3 million new jobs, she used as an example Michigan government's recent bet that the lithium-ion battery industry should be cultivated with special treatment and favors from state government.

Granholm wrote: "If the states are the laboratories of democracy, Washington can take a lesson from what is happening in Michigan."

Jenny, Jenny, Jenny...  shut up.  Just fade away, explode, dissolve in the sunlight, etc.. Whatever it takes to get your vampire's touch off this state, but please just shut up, and do not try to peddle your failure to the rest of the country any longer.

You talk of learning from what is happening?  How can you even say that, when you have learned nothing?  Even a stupid animal eventually knows that its paws get burned if it touches fire.

Below the gutter line for more..

    Poor or Pure.. Michigan

THAT is a deal I want.

I cannot even imagine the improvements I could make to my business If I was given $188,000 per each new employee I hired. I would be able to "blow away" the competition by undercutting them.  I could man the phone sales lines 24 hours a day.  I could invest in new equipment, buy new product, etc...

$188,000.00 is not exactly chump change.. It is about 4 and a half times the national average manufacturing yearly earnings. (Or twice that of the average UAW worker's earnings)  And since my compensation package is even less, I could employ each person for about 6 years..  What the heck.. I would shoot the moon and go for the 5 year plan and pay em more!

5 years of employment GUARANTEED for each man woman or donkey working for us!  No fear of unemployment, (Though we would gladly pay the premiums.. the least we could do...) or hourly reductions, or benefits losses.. Again in the spirit of the thing.. I would even pay the small employee contribution..  Its a win win!
