    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

    DEMOCRATS: PARTY OF CRAPITALISM

DEMOCRATS ARE ALSO THE PARTY OF CRAPITALISM

We all know now; it's indisuptable fact. The masks have come off. It's true. The Democrats and RINO's are Socialists. Even Jeffery Immelt (CEO for GE, the tax dodger) has been praising the communism of China. Lenin himself said the point to Socialism is Communism, which manifests itself as a god-like loyalty to party out of fear or desire for power in which the average citizen spies on his/her neighbor for beni-points since the state controls all means of production, and therefore, the acquisition of wealth, or in the case of fully mature communism, the acquisition of your next meal. But notice how they get a foothold on power: Criticize things, like capitalism, as being what they are not, and criticize their opponents for being who they are. This means there is not a "vast right wing conspiracy" as Hillary Clinton asserted just out of the blue; rather, there is, in fact, a Left Wing conspiracy that's been going on for 100 years the results of which we are seeing today. But I digress...

With true unbridled capitalism, there is self-regulation...

    Hitting The Nail

    On the head.

If it were YOUR business, monopoly, interest, etc..  What would you do?  What would be YOUR actions if the government came gunning for you and your interest in holding on to a business built both legally and with solid business acumen.  That is the point I have made many times before with regard to Moroun and the DIBC.

And Henry Payne makes a decent case for it as well a couple days ago, when he points out the hypocrisy of the media that decries Moroun's efforts:

"Take the Journal. It's the only daily newspaper in the state's capital. What if the governments of Canada, Michigan, and the US ganged up on the LSJ's "monopoly," and decided to publish a government-run newspaper to put the Journal out of business?

You don't have to endorse Moroun's over-the-top, misleading ads - or his ballot proposal - to know that is exactly what the Canadian government is doing to the Ambassador Bridge Company.

In a decades-long war with Moroun, the Canadian government has tried repeatedly to put the Michigan mogul out of business, jealous that a private company is making money on "their" international border crossing. What is dumb-founding is that it has found a Michigan governor and American government to ally with them to destroy a profitable, American business."

And that last point should not be lost in the midst of Snyder's Taxpayer funded 'education' bus tour.

For years, the legislature has been reticent on taking action on a new bridge for a few reasons.  Not the least of which has been that very last fact.  The question begged by conservative Republican legislators, is "Why would we hurt an American business to give a benefit to the Canadians?  Short term gain as Payne alludes, is certainly ALL we get out of such a thing, and while there was a Democrat governor, resistance was easy for Republicans.

With the current governor, it suddenly makes it OK? Did Republicans leave their principles at the door when the majority changed?

Any of you who run a business that YOU BUILT, understand what happens when government grows to a point where they can use your tax dollars to abuse you repeatedly.  Crony short term gains by the actions and wishes of this governor, and his waiting-in-the-wings beneficiaries can all too easily be replaced by the long term losses more closely associated with American business failures due to external forces.

    GOVERNMENT intervention.

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

    A Real Governor

The easy wimpy way to reward your crony friends well into this entire ACA debacle is to roll over play dead, and permit those buddies waiting in the wings to apply THEIR form of 'capitalism'.

    Right Governor Snyder?

With all due respect, it takes a little more substance to represent your state sir.  Especially when 26 states are ready to tell Obama where he can stick his health care.  They pretty much have already. And given the outcome of the upcoming electoral contests in the Senate, the Congress, and yes, the 'occupied' White house, its likely that doing anything to capitulate with the insanity would be a foolish endeavor we would have to roll back anyhow.

Why in the heck would we want to complicate things further?

Take a lesson from one of your counterparts.  Governor Rick Perry has kicked Obama's messenger, 300 style, into the abyss from which such laws emanate.

He pretty much told that gal to deliver a go-to-hell with the mandate, expansive overreach, and unconstitutional buggery of the american people with a letter delivered today.  A message for the man who was elected president in our nations fit of idiocy, who has shown himself to be incapable of recognizing cause and effect, misunderstands markets, and has no respect for what our founders shed blood for.

Read the letter below the fold.  Would that we Michiganders have such courage in our executive office.
