  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

It has crossed my mind. If growing government is considered "a success" by an alleged Republican dominated state with every lever of power in Lansing, then WhyTF would I want to remain here just to be fleeced?

Michigan's population is slowly rebounding, but millionaires may not be sticking around for the state's revival. [Where is the "revival"?]

Despite encouraging economic trends and a booming stock market, the state had 10,000 fewer millionaire households in 2013 than 2012, the Phoenix Global Wealth Monitor estimated in a report released this week.

Time to get on the stick, Mr. Orr.  It is noted that you all are Democrats still calling the shots within the Utopian downward spiral.

Oh, and George, I got your Race Card℗ hanging for you - right here.

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

What better scenario could possibly happen for Unapologetic Conservatives, other than to have an East coast thug who strong-armed his way to chair the Republican Governors Association, flitting about The Mitten campaigning for the Nerd?

Please visit I'm a man! I'm 41! for reason why Christie is useful.

Folks, it's all about transparency, of which, as like with Christie, Rick Snyder's self-invented nerd persona is anything but transparent.

I suppose the exit question should be: will the Boobus Michiganderus voters swallow a second term of Snyder abuse?

    Schauer Goes On Welfare

Mark Schauer's campaign for governor has been down to the public assistance office because he doesn't have enough money to pay the help.

In an absolutely hilarious statement, his spokesperson explains the plight as NOT being needed for paying the help:

Schauer spokesman Zack Pohl said the campaign has "every day expenses" such as offices, employees and materials to pay for and denied the request for public funding was a sign of a fundraising weakness for Schauer seven months before the primary.

"It's fairly common on the Democratic side, especially when you have a wealthy opponent like Rick Snyder," Pohl said.

    Nah.  Its fundraising weakness.

Schauer isn't seen a good investment, even though he is all the Dems have, and that isn't saying much. In the meantime, if the political welfare check doesn't arrive on time, you can bet the operations will be done out of a cold cardboard box with a few less employees. Economic reality folks.

And in other news, Governor Rick Snyder will spend half a million smackers to persuade folks what a good job he has done:

" Records reviewed by the Free Press show the Snyder campaign has purchased $400,000 worth of TV air time during the Feb. 2 Super Bowl with Fox affiliate WJBK-TV (Channel 2) and $18,000 worth of ad time on the Lansing Fox affiliate, WSYM-TV (Fox 47). Though full details were not available, the purchases are part of a statewide buy for a 60-second spot. "
And 60 second spots are made for telling stories.

Snyder and Schauer BOTH have interesting pasts with regard to finance reporting though. The nerd fund, with its 'Mysterious' donors, and Mark Schauer with Campaign finance irregularities

    Yup.  Peas in a pod.

Sorry Charlie, err, Joshua, however, besides same last names, you two do have the same stench.

Last week, following offensive comments about LGBT Michiganians [those would be Michiganders] from Michigan's Republican National Committee member Dave Agema, Michigan Republicans collectively failed to take any action to hold Agema accountable for his hate speech. Republican Gov. Snyder was complicit in this, telling a Lansing radio host "I'm not getting into that."

Hate speech my ass, signed Wolverine. Furthermore, if the Ann Arbor Nerd wasn't such a flaming Progressive surrounding himself in Obama funding secrecy, his answer for Medicaid Expansion would have also been, "I'm not getting into that."

Every stupid thing on The Left has become an ongoing distraction from reality.

    H/t Market Ticker

Sit and spin on that one, Mr. deflector of communications for the Michigan Democratic Party.

Snydercaid Expansion with cool Obamacare Clawback Provisions

The Flim-Flam Man and his Nerdpublicrat majority nailed folks good this time.

Expanded Medicaid's fine print holds surprise: 'payback' from estate after death

As thousands of state residents enroll in Washington's expanded Medicaid program, many will be surprised at fine print: After you're dead, your estate can be billed for ordinary health-care expenses. State officials are scrambling to change the rule.
    ....

Dr. Jane Orient, executive director of the politically conservative Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, writing in the The Washington Times, called the recovery provision "a cash cow for states to milk the poor and the middle class."

"People will think this is wonderful, this is free insurance," Orient said in an interview. "They don't realize it's really a loan, and is secured by any property they have."

Even states that are now limiting estate recovery, she warned, can change the rules again if budget problems become more intense.

    Unclear rules

One reason this snafu has become so troublesome is that ACA rules appear to give those who qualify for Medicaid little choice but to accept the coverage.

People cannot receive a tax credit to subsidize their purchase of a private health plan if their income qualifies them for Medicaid, said Bethany Frey, spokeswoman for the Washington Health Benefit Exchange.

    REST

All the way from One Big Ass Mistake America, to Vote, No Vacation Snyder and his faux-conservative Gen Xer toadie - the Mitten State is screwed.
