    The right to bear arms is the one thing that has kept the government and criminals (sometimes it's difficult to make the distinction) the bay.

    The amazing argument I keep hearing is "well, back in the 1700's people needed guns. You know. To hunt and get food. And, today, we don't, you know, need to hunt to eat. So, you know, we really don't need guns."

    All anyone needs to do is look at what the Founders wrote so clearly about this and any other subject  to understand their intent.
