    I don't have a problem with those 10 (none / 0) (#34)

principles. Did you read the rest of my posts to this thread? Good on you for doing so.

I do have a problem when you suggest that you are the big tent guy yet you are being a bit derogatory towards others in this big tent. Stop it!

Further, I don't know where you go to find your "big tent" people. Me, I find them in all stripes. Perhaps you need to get out more?

I do see a need to encourage some of your view points but do be diligent not to reverse the problem.

As for voting anything except Republican, and claiming claiming Conservative Big Tent, that not too bright.

What say you? Are you willing to work within this two Party system? All else is futile, you know that. Don't go all Nader or anything else.  That spoils your Big Tent rant.

So, it's on you. I've defended you where you deserve. Be in or be out. Prove me right or prove yourself a...I'll just say it, a pretender. I hope you don't disappoint me as I feel you have a lot I may want to hear.

    What's wrong with progressive? (none / 0) (#37)
by midlandrepublican on Mon Sep 21, 2009 at 04:26:33 PM EST
Why can't one be progressive and Republican, or day I say, a progressive conservative? We have bastardized too many words; the same with being liberal. Are we not all liberals in the classical sense? Unfortunately, we have allowed too many on the left to hijack words and claim them as their own. I do not agree with progressiveness as an ideology, however, I certainly believe in progress. As Edmund Burke said: "A state without the means of some change is without the means of its conservation."
