While we appreciate your input there is no need to attack other posters here.

There is plenty of blame to go around for the situation in Detroit and DPS and the ones that have lost the most are the children - I am sympathetic to that, however, there is a mind set in Detroit that has refused to acknowledge the problems and have refused help from out siders because they suggested uniforms for the students, charter schools, interns and on and on.  And some of those out siders were white and that was offensive to Detroiters.  Hell, Bill Cosby was called a racist by Detroiters for pointing out it's faults.

So don't go playing the race card.  Detroit is what it is.  A predominantly black city that is falling into an abyss because they don't want to look in the mirror and acknowledge their failures. And they are now rejecting common sense fixes. That is the reality.

Bad parents, bad children and bad teachers come in every color - the outcome is still the same.  Until the culture is changed the results will remain the same.  That is not racist.
