    Here's my take . . . (none / 0) (#3)

    . . . regarding Bachmann.

First, she actually voted to support this pooch-screwing of the war power check-and-balance, and I have a philosophical problem with someone who's okay with expanding the power of the executive with regard to use of force and detention without trial.  And she can't say that she didn't know the can of worms this might open.  I really want to hear her answer on this.

Also, I noticed that her Iowa campaign chairman bailed on her, in favor of endorsing the nutjob whose the principal subject of my OP.  I'll grant that it doesn't completely kill her campaign, but it surely doesn't help matters any.

Finally, even though there's officially eleven republicans on the Michigan primary ballot (including Herman Cain), the current realistic projections are that it'll be down to Gingrich, Paul, Perry, and Romney by the time that the primary actually gets to Michigan.  Anything can happen in the next five weeks or so (especially now that Gingrich and Santorum are effectively tied for third place in Iowa), but I'm going to see how the January states winnow the field a bit before I actually make a decision.

And yeah, that may mean that I have to figure out whether to hold my nose and vote for Perry, or hold my nose and vote for Gingrich (because there's no way I back either Romney or Paul in the primary).
