    Hellooooo AG Schuette... (none / 0) (#3)

Prosecution?  I agree J-man.  Former AG Cox really screwed the pooch with dropping the ball on the MoleRattler/Cherry/Faris AFSCME/UAW/MHBCCC/DHS/MCC collusion.  Perhaps AG Schuette won't turn out just being another one of those tin horns trumpeting low-hanging-fruit chasing type AG's.  Time will tell.

Although, other than the ceremonious public token pound of flesh, I wouldn't hold my breath in any real justice happening in this state.

The former mayor and public works director of St. Clair Shores was sentenced today after pleading guilty to misconduct in office for taking money from the city's scrap metal sales.

Curt Dumas' plea, made in December, will be under advisement for his 11 months probation term, according to Macomb County Circuit Court records. They also say that restitution has been paid.

The case is to be reviewed Feb. 8, 2012, by Judge Peter Maceroni.

Dumas, 53, of Richmond Township bilked the city of about $27,000 by taking money from scrap metal sales, having a water bill waived for a home owned by his wife and using a city laptop Air Card at his home.

    Translation:

With his plea, a five-year felony charge was to be reduced to a one-year misdemeanor and two other charges were to be dismissed.

Poof!  PFM!  .. and a felony instantly becomes thee inconsequential.
