The denial of reality is not addressing your costs of borrowing to pay off the cause of your debt.

Robbing Peter to pay for Paul is pathetically limp wristed pale pastels.

But, we're close to being on the same page...

Agree Pogo.  Listen, he was about my last choice in the primary...and yet, what he's done with the Corporate Welfare scheme is nothing short of amazing.  He's far better than Walker, Kasich, Daniels and Jindal and all the rest, on this...who continue to play the "govern by press release" handout game.  He's led on the important and very responsible EM law, line item pricing and huge spending cuts.  And I believe there is a lot more to come that will impress many across the nation, including transparency, metrics, accountability and dealing with other strutural problems.

And I believe if not for the Civil Service Comm in the Constitution, we would have cut significantly more...however, the fairness of treating all income the same seems to be right even with more cuts...we would (and will) have just had broadbased cuts.  Again, we've been at this four months...and we have a system that has been bailed out in the billions time and time again.  To fill the $1.4B structural deficit with real (not one-time, voodoo accounting) cuts is...well, I think the liberal critics are not hard to find.  We're cutting alright...its just too bad some fall to the kind of 1/2 truths that was sited above...and not acknowledging the obvious - that not only was a huge, undealt-with-for-years spending problem handled without a tax increase, but that a real net tax cut occurred on top of it.

And Corinth, I was the lead critic of the "slightly faster than current" rail: http://www.mlive.com/politics/index.ssf/2011/05/gov_rick_snyder_embraces_trans.html
