On "the issue of taxes on pensions" - I can't speak for anybody else, but I'm fine with it. If one category of retirees are going to be taxed at the same rates as the others, for the same type of income, that somehow means "The pensioners were going to get screwed."? Is there something I'm missing here? I fail to see what sort of logic is being used. Does tax immunity extorted by union special interests deserve immortality? That's a funny argument to hear on a conservative website.

I would suggest that people in the TEA party movement are fed up with more than gross government receipts. It's the insanity of the overall direction government has been moving- artificially imposed fees for this, insanely wasteful money poured into that, all by wise and benevolent bureaucrats. Every day a little more government control "for the greater good". Things are twisted up enough as it is, that a little movement toward simplification and equal treatment is quite welcome.

Regarding "No acknowledgement that roughly 43% of our fellow Americans don't pay any taxes as it is." So then, because the federal government has a socialistically biased free rider tax policy, we should try to promote more of the same in state taxes? How progressive. That argument would probably go over big with Michael Moore.

    RIGHT but wrong... (none / 0) (#8)

First off, all seniors aren't being taxed at the same right. The GOP cynically picked winners and losers. Secondly, I love how when a dem proposes the SAME THING it's called socialism but when a white republican proposes the same thing it's called "everyone paying their fair share."

That's a pretty convenient world you live in there.

For the record, your side calls it the TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY party for a reason.

Aside from these minor clarifications, please proceed.
