    Poll Strokers

Gov. Snyder has pretty much sealed his re-election fate.  If he blunders on with his Milliken v2.0 course (with Calley, or not), Rick Michigan will in fact be a One Term Nerd.

Gov. Rick Snyder's decision to take Detroit into bankruptcy has statewide popularity, but his advocacy for expanding Medicaid has cost him support among fellow Republicans, according to a new poll released exclusively to The Detroit News.

Snyder's favorability has regained ground from a 38 percent low point in February after the divisive right-to-work debates, climbing to 44 percent this month, according to statewide polls commissioned by Lambert, Edwards & Associates, a bipartisan public relations firm.

    ....

The poll conducted by Denno Research shows 36.5 percent of all voters are more likely to vote for Snyder because of his stance on Medicaid, but it has come at a price among his own supporters and strained his relations with some Republican lawmakers.

About 37 percent of Republican voters said they were less likely to vote for the incumbent Republican governor because of his support of expanding the Medicaid entitlement program, a major component of President Barack Obama's health care law.

"He's got his party behind him on (Detroit)[duh!], but when you talk about Medicaid expansion, forget it [Jeez, go figure]," said Bill Ballenger, publisher of the Lansing newsletter Inside Michigan Politics.

When Snyder is out at County Party fundraisers, pay attention to what the Nerd doesn't say about his government growing, tax hiking agenda before writing him and Schostak that contribution check.  NOTE:

While the governor held a series of forums over the past month advocating for Medicaid expansion inside medical facilities across the state, he's taken a different message to his Republican base lately.

During a speech Monday night before Macomb County Republicans in Sterling Heights, Snyder didn't mention his Medicaid plan or his proposals to raise taxes to fix the state's roads, but made clear the state would not be bailing out Detroit.

What a mealy-mouthed corporatist weasel, nevertheless, there it is = Rick Snyder.

More importantly, the 800 lb. Conservative Gorilla is in the "Big Tent" and still has no use for milquetoast Team R pale pastel.  If Senate Republicans had any doubts on how/why they should Vote No on HB 4714, it has been unequivocally removed for them.  Or, be betrayed again by a term limited Richardville without the kiss.

Vote at your own electoral peril, Senators.

Besides Rick Snyder, same 'ol same old... Amnesty for gatecrashers.

The immigration overhaul passed by the U.S. Senate could put a big squeeze on the budgets of state and local governments.

The proposal does not help states pay for costs incurred by required policy changes, including ramped up English classes and greater access to public hospitals and health clinics.

"Potentially, we are going to create a financial catastrophe for states and localities," said Sheri Steisel, senior federal affairs counsel and a human services expert at the National Conference of State Legislatures. "The states will end up with the cost and consequences of the federal decision-making, with very little resources to rely on to make up the difference."

    MORE

Not that the self-invented Nerd persona since being sworn to his Oath has done a damn thing about that "big squeeze" anyway.  Why Hell, stealth Democrat Rick Michigan has even fought his own Secretary of State, Ruth Johnson, over providing gatecrashers a driver license, squashing voter verification, and placing the Lawless to the front of the line ahead of American citizens.

Michiganders must really enjoy being little more than Debt Slaves.  Wolverines - do not.  Frankly, I don't see a snowball's chance in Hell that Snyder will be a second term anything in this state, but go ahead "liberty-minded network" with squandering your time and resources on Calley.

Hune Not Behind Medicaid Expansion 'Robo-Calls'

    By JGillman, Section News

Sen. Joe Hune today urged residents not to let special interest groups hijack their voices and opinions.

Hune, R-Hamburg, recently mentioned that his office has received an innumerable number of phone calls from constituents that were transferred to the office from `robo-calls' they had received regarding Medicaid expansion. However, many of them do not understand the phone calls they are receiving and some seniors are even mistaking it for changes to Medicare.

    Hune says

"These robo-calls appear to be intentionally misleading! These calls prompt you to press one to speak to our office or it automatically transfers you. Either way, many are mistaking it for being originated by my office. I repeat that we are not responsible for these calls."

Interest groups have launched a campaign that automatically sends phone calls to many of the Michigan Senate offices recently. He understands the frustrations of those receiving the calls:

"I apologize to my constituents who are receiving robo-calls from shadowy interest groups scripted to sound as if it was coming from our office, which is not the case. Aside from these calls being very persistent to homes in my district, many of my constituents don't know who called them or why, and are confused by the automated statements made before they are transferred. These robo-calls are a product of questionable, pro-Medicaid expansion groups that don't have the residents of the 22nd District's best interests at heart.

Those interested in the Medicaid expansion issue should do exactly what I am doing: research the issue and come to a well-thought-out conclusion.

We always welcome the comments and concerns of our constituents. If they have questions on Medicaid expansion, they should reach out to my office at 855-JOE-HUNE."

    Thanks for the Update Joe.

Yessiree folks.  Keep an eye out for those " questionable, pro-Medicaid expansion groups ".

They'll do ANYTHING to move it forward.

Grassroots Say NO to Obamacare In Michigan

Governor Snyder is wasting no time utilizing a back door attempt to implement Obamacare in Michigan.

With the acceptance of 30.9 million of Federal money being offered to Michigan to fund the Health Care Exchange, 2013 could see Obama Care in MI and More! There is expected a Committee vote anytime, which has precipitated a grassroots backlash. This money is key to jump-starting the Health Care Exchange this year. It was stopped by our efforts last year. We can do it again! IT MUST BE DONE. Stopping the funding of the Health Care Exchange is necessary in stopping the expansion of Medicaid in Michigan as the Exchange will administer the program.

A press release issued this morning (published at Jen Kuznicki's blog and elsewhere) from other activists and grassroots leaders suggests withholding support from organizations which support the exchanges as well:

"The coalition of activists urges those who are like-minded members of The Michigan Chamber of Commerce, the Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM), Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce, Michigan Manufacturing Association and The Michigan Business and Professional Association to cancel membership until these organizations withdraw their support of the Exchange."
We agree. We also have joined this coalition to stop the expansion of Medicaid that promises only more generations of dependence and eventual higher taxes.

Contacting committee members and parties involved must be done ASAP

A simple action plan is available below the fold.

    via The Detroit News

City and state leaders have agreed on a milestone agreement that supports the city's reform agenda, officials announced Thursday.

Completion of the milestone agreement is a key component to the state releasing the bond money in an escrow account needed for the city's cash crunch. Officials said Monday the city would run out of cash by the end of the year if it was not able to draw down $10 million by next week and $20 million by mid-December.

Told you it would happen.  Heck, even the bad actors in the Snyder Administration are faking it so not to be the ones stuck holding the bag when this blows up in their face.

State Treasurer Andy Dillon said the agreement gives Detroit "a transparent roadmap" to get the bond money, but he's still concerned about the progress that's been made on the reform agenda.

"The funds from the bond proceeds were never intended to fund the status quo in Detroit, but rather aid with its government reforms," Dillon said in a released statement. "While some progress has been made in the city since the signing of the financial stability agreement in June, it is moving slower than what all parties would have anticipated. There is still much work to be done."

Much work to be done, Andy?  Like what?  Forcing the taxpayers of Michigan to be stuck with more junk bonds for the decades of unaccountable "protected class" Democratic Party rule in Detroit?  No más, Señor Tesorero Dillon.  Like it or not, the Consent Agreement was not agreed to in good faith.  Not by Mayor Bing, nor by City Council, and most certainly not by Corporation Counsel.

It is time for Governor Snyder to be held accountable too.  It way past being painfully obvious when those who are viewed as crossing over to the dark side from time to time have reached their wits end with an alleged fiscal conservative governor enabling his spoiled rotten children to carry on by throwing money at them.

Either the city wants to be a full participant in its financial rescue or the governor should, to quote a famous failed presidential candidate, let Detroit go bankrupt.

The governor should not be in a position of wanting more for the city than it wants for itself.

Comprender?  The sad part for the rest of the state is that anyone watching the charade happening in Detroit, knows that in 2013 we'll still be having the same results.

That's racists you say?  See here.
