The congresscritters we send to the District of Corruption sure have their Big Government tentacles into everything We the People do today.  States, you want your road monies back?  Then you'll have to create a new level of criminal element on your end for lawyers and municipalities to fleece, and we'll give you back a share of road monies on a percentage of what you lobby us for.  Win-win-win.  Nudge-nudge-wink-wink.  The herd will go for it in the name of safety.  They always do.  We'll call it implied consent.  Go ahead .. do it states, the supremes are good with it, and then we're off to the races with healthcare, drones in the sky, and NDAA.  One has to boil the frog slowly dontchya know.

It's how decent folk like Bob, end up snared with criminal labels in a legalese merchant controlled world we allowed today.  And for the elected class, what else looks better on paper for a candidates campaign than 'tough on crime' propaganda?  Not much as its easily swallowed by most.  Besides, government LEO's Lab contamination shmamination - Hang him! says the mouthbreathers.  Because, of course, them jurors would never ever have a chance facing of that gamed $10,000+ life altering seat when leaving "go team" stadium, or the local public house, would they?  Indeed.  I'm also rather confident that any highly educated folk out there like Sen. Cardiologist Fatso, will find increased spending solutions for all of the above too.  I guess that's the rewarding comforts of folks turning to mother government for everything.

Most folks can't hold on to a thought for more than a minute or so before the phone rings, or a hot flash news item distracts them.  In fact lives have become so busy, its amazing that understanding of cause and effect is as broad as the 5% that it seems to be. In fact I fear analytical abilities are on the wane. Without that important skill, it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep people focused on what has truly become the enemy of our liberty.

When government controls our purse, we are not truly free.

Period.

Below the fold, is a new project I hope will help to reverse the trend towards political and economic ignorance.  It will be offered free for a time to radio stations that wish to have a morning minute type programming, or even something for fill in between programming.  It will be edgy, and hopefully coherent.  

The idea came while making commercials for the state representative race I was recently involved with.  As one of the most effective parts of the campaign, it was clear how effective radio could be if used properly.  At the same time, it provides a new programming option for stations that want to enhance their talk radio line up.

God help us from benevolent bureaucracies!

The family was hoping Nathan's hot dog cart could help them through a difficult time.  Nathan's mother, Lynette Johnson, suffers from epilepsy and his stepfather, Doug Johnson, has multiple sclerosis. Their illnesses have restricted them from finding permanent, full-time work.

The city of Holland, however, shut down the business 10 minutes after it opened, informing Nathan it was in the city's commercial district where food carts not connected to downtown brick-and-motor restaurants are prohibited. Unintended or otherwise, it is considered normal nowadays for government to hamper the opportunities of some, to favor others. A pretend scenario is certainly unnecessary for this family.

In closing arguments, Kacharik told jurors that the case was not about the Second Amendment or any of Combs' civil rights, but rather his interest in "showing off" an antique 1940s rifle his brother had given him for his 18th birthday.

"It was about choices, choices he made that night," she said. "He made a choice to conduct himself in a loud, boisterous manner when questioned by police.

"He wanted to open carry, because it is something he always wanted to do. He and his girlfriend spent an hour and a half walking around the downtown 'doing laps.' He was feeling good about himself and showing off to his  girlfriend."

She stressed that Combs was arrested only after he repeatedly refused to provide identification showing he was of legal age, at least 18, to be carrying a weapon. While Combs never pointed or threatened anyone with the weapon, he carried it in an "ostentatious" manner, she said, which is defined as brandishing in dictionaries.

"He was showing off," she told the jury. "He liked the attention. He wanted to shock people."

The two female Officers that were derelict in their duty are a disgrace, and I hope the young man sues the bejesus out of the City of Birmingham.  Their prosecutors obviously have a "pound of flesh" agenda that conflicts with Law, all based upon unnecessary hype created by their PD.

I think for once, the threat of a packed and organized Grand Traverse County commission chamber is a reality.  This time its not about a failed septage system, bicycle paths, or a grant to the money pit of the day.

It is about a simple resolution.

Its about a statement, a reiteration, and a declaration, that there are some people who still have a sense of why so many fought for their independence(and ours as well). That reminder that we have not lost the will to abide by the rule of law. Law established to protect us from the overreaches often brought about "for our own good" and the desires for power over our fellow man.

It is a resolution I am presenting in support of Freedom To Work for the state of Michigan.  

It is a transparent and open leverage of opinion that has no binding end, yet sufficiently threatens those who would hold the leash to our state's work force. The resolution is opinion only, yet its call to put away the whip speaks loudly enough to have them organize an opposition "Rally." This memo sent out to the local Democrat party faithful:

"This is totally unacceptable and we have to make our voices heard.  Please help us pack the room with strong union supporters. We need to send them the message that we will not tolerate this type of activity in Grand Traverse County."

How appropriate it is, that this would be an issue on a weekend where so many of us celebrate the independence declared by our nation's founders, as a resolution. One that is opposed by those forces who prefer to have no accountability, no real representation to the people they claim to serve. Those who would prefer to not allow a declaration of choice.  Those who want no limit to their role in attempts to control what we do for a living, what we make, who we work for, and would insist that the wage we make, (their persistent argument) could not be sufficient solely created by our own efforts.

A future that relies on real individual choice, and freedom of association, as well as protection to make that choice in the workplace.

As this posting is made, several news conferences will be made throughout Michigan simultaneously, with a couple more following up at 3PM.  The Freedom to work coalition, a grass roots effort to bring liberty back to the workplace is announcing its intent to see Michigan as the first Right-To-Work state in the great lakes basin.  This means JOBS.

Announcing the formation of Michigan Freedom to Work, a statewide coalition to promote passage of a state civil rights law guaranteeing that all employees are free to choose whether to join or financially support a labor union, without facing the threat of being discriminated against or fired based on that choice.
