So how much energy is available to us in total? (none / 0) (#3)
by Clydes Dale on Fri Aug 01, 2008 at 07:58:18 PM EST
A solution to conserve is not out of the question.  We already have massive CAFE standards on cars and trucks. Various states have green energy standards where wind, solar, etc. are/will be forced on to the market regardless of cost to the end user.  Recycling is close to a religious experience in CA, NJ, and ME.  We scrub smoke stacks to remove all of 4ppm of Hg from coal stacks. We make special EPA blends of gaoline to decrease economies of scale.  Is there no end! Shall I decontaminate my son's diapers?

We stopped drilling in the Great Lakes.  We have not build a new Nuc plant in 30 years or so (God help us with the old age plants we have now - they are way over due) We have not built a oil refinery since the 70's. We don't drill off CA. We don't drill off Florida - and CUBA did lease drilling rights to CHINA 80 miles from FLA.  Ted Kennedy won't let windmills go up off of Marth's Vinyard. (Mary Jo Kopechne could not be reached for comment.)  ALL BECUASE OF DEMOCRATE/GREEN OVER REGULATION.  What do you want? For crying out loud . . .

Why don't the Dems just realize that if oil/energy is available (Jack 2, Bakken, Canadian oil shale, etc, 100 NEW nucs) we should go get it.  It is the working poor that will suffer this Democratic stupidity - and no one else.
