While a few of these "horse soldiers" are certainly sincere about wanting to protect and help rebuild, let's not kid ourselves: Most are careerists who will just follow the  incentives.
That's our real challenge - to raise the cost of serving the looter system so high that most won't do it. Until now, serving the that system has been the most reliable way to sustain their careers.
