    Paul W. Smith's interview with Maura Corrigan of DHS and an audit of Detroit's DHS just found that the city billed the state $600K - twice - for the same program to help the poor and not one penny of that money was spent on the poor.  All the money was for "expenses to get the program up and running".  Can't wait to see what it was actually spent on.  Last I read the director of the Detroit area DHS is being charged with a myriad of offenses including spending thousands of these taxpayer dollars on personal items like a washer and dryer, clothing, home repairs, etc.  

    So cry me a river - most of these programs are just slush funds for greedy and corrupt officials.  Dole out funds to proven programs like the Salvation Army and church programs that actually do good works.
