MI's Dr. Death Returns: His First Speech in Eight Years is TODAY at Wayne State University

What the heck is up with Wayne State University?

Earlier this month, this public (read: tax-supported) Detroit-based university hosted one of Michigan's most infamous abortionists, "Dr." Alberto Hodari.  See: http://www.rightmichigan.com/story/2007/11/8/1049/67702 and http://www.studentsforlife.org/index.php/picturesandvideos/hodari

Now, today, Thursday, November 29, 2007 Michigan's infamous assisted-suicide peddler - and convicted murderer - "Dr." Jack Kevorkian is scheduled to give a public presentation on the Wayne State campus.

I guess Wayne State wanted to round out its promotion of the Culture of Death; that is, from celebrating the murder of unborn children in the sanctity of their mothers' womb to rejoicing in the killing-off of fully-grown human beings who are sickly, aged, or just depressed.   Wow. What a truly "enlightening" education Wayne State offers its students these days!   It's plain disgusting.

Whereas Hodari's speech was entitled, "Why I am an Abortion Provider," and was sponsored by Wayne State's Medical Students for Choice, Kevorkian's talk is suppose to be about "prison reform" and not assisted suicide, since Kevorkian's talk is sponsored by Wayne State's Criminal Justice Club.

    Yeah right.

You remember Jack Kevorkian, don't you?  Who could forget the man known around the world as Dr. Death?  Kevorkian claims to have killed more than 130 individuals via his sick-o, self-built euthanasia machine and other "innovative methods" during the 1990s.

Dr. Death made national headlines thanks to well-staged theatrics, television appearances, and the antics of his so-called attorney, Geoffrey Fieger (who is hopefully going to prison himself soon thanks to a recent federal indictment!).

Although throughout the 1990s several different juries had repeatedly refused to find Kevorkian guilty of breaking Michigan's laws with regard to his assisting in suicides, in 1999 the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office finally obtained a second-degree murder conviction against Kevorkian for his assisting in the death of Thomas Youk.

Kevorkian was originally charged in the Youk case with violating Michigan's ban on assisted suicide, but that charge was later dropped because the prosecution sought to have him convicted on the more serious charge of second-degree murder, on which he was subsequently sentenced to 10-to-25 years in prison.

Kevorkian was paroled and let out of prison this past June, 2007, due to "ill health."

But, of course, Kevorkian, who his lawyers had claimed suffered from all sorts of life-debilitating ailments, never seems to have considered the obvious antidote to all his medical problems - suicide.  But what's good enough for others is certainly not good for Dr. Death, apparently.

In fact, Dr. Death seems to have made a remarkable recovery as evidenced by his planned trip to the University of Florida.

Although a Michigan university now has the shame of hosting Kevorkian's first speech since he left prison after serving only eight years of his sentence, Kevorkian was suppose to have given the University of Florida that distinct disgrace back in October.  However, the University of Florida postponed Dr. Death's address due to "security concerns" after the John Kerry-taser incident.  Kevorkian is rumored to be asking for $50,000 for his Florida talk, which is now scheduled for January 2008.

So I guess I find it a little ironic that Kevorkian will be talking about prison reform at Wayne State today.  Isn't he the poster child for everything that is WRONG with our prison system today?   Here, a convicted murderer doesn't even serve the MINIMUM sentence and is free to prance about the country peddling his euthanasia agenda (for a substantial fee, of course) just as he did once before.  I'm curious as to what type of "reforms" Kevorkian exactly wants - probation for first timers convicted of murder, perhaps?

    What utter insanity.

There will be a pro-life protest of the event outside the Helen LeRoy Auditorium on the main campus of Wayne State starting around 11 am. Dr. Death's "talk" is supposed to begin at 12 pm.

If you are free and in the area, I encourage you to participate and be one more shining light upon an intellectual culture at Wayne State University that is increasingly consumed by utter darkness.
