Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

And when you ask them, how much should you give, they only answer more, more, more, more!

From MIRS interview with Andy Dillon:

    Q. How much revenue are you looking for?

    A. I don't think we've made that public yet.

    Q. Are you looking beyond the 4.6 percent income tax rate?

    A. 4.6 doesn't fill the gap so we've got to look beyond that so it could be a tax on services a select set of services, that could be in the mix.

So, the story all along has been that because Engler and the rascally Republicans cut the income tax from 4.4 to 3.9, we've had a structural deficit.

So now, we go from 3.9 to 4.6, and it still isn't enough...

    Here's what's really going on:

    1. the Governor has been in office for 5 years, and hasn't been able to pay her buddies back yet. Patronage and government money being what really funds their machine.

    2. Dillon really, really wants to be speaker on Jan. 1, 2009

    3. Because of GOP slip ups, the Democrats have a lot of seats they shouldn't have.  Which they won't have as soon as they vote for a tax increase.

Keep up the pressure.  Spread the word.  The people are with us on this issue, but it's time to turn the volume up--way up.

And make sure to support the fighting 50! (number subject to change, unfortunately)

    'Cause I'm the taxman!

    Taxman lyrics (none / 0) (#2)
by Jake Davison on Mon Sep 17, 2007 at 04:08:30 PM EST
Let me tell you how it will be,
There's one for you, nineteen for me,
    `Cos I'm the Taxman,
    Yeah yeah, I'm the Taxman.
Should five per cent appear too small,
Be thankful I don't take it all,
    `Cos I'm the Taxman,
    Yeah yeah, I'm the Taxman.
(If you drive a car), I'll tax the street,
(If you try to sit), I'll tax your seat,
(If you get too cold), I'll tax the heat,
(If you take a walk), I'll tax your feet.
    Taxman.
    `Cos I'm the Taxman,
    Yeah yeah, I'm the Taxman.
Don't ask me what I want it for
    (Ah Ah! Mister Wilson!)
If you don't want to pay some more
    (Ah Ah! Mister Heath!),
    `Cos I'm the Taxman,
    Yeah yeah, I'm the Taxman.
Now my advice for those who die,
Declare the pennies on your eyes,
    `Cos I'm the Taxman,
    Yeah, I'm the Taxman.
And you're working for no-one but me,
    (Taxman).

*Wilson and Heath were British Prime Ministers around the time George Harrison wrote "Taxman," which was track one on the "Revolver" album in 1966. The "one for you nineteen for me" referred to the 95% top tax rate that caused the Beatles, Rolling Stones and other bands to become tax exiles by leaving the UK.
