Schauer lies through his teeth about Big Oil money and MSM blindly follows: Truth Exposed

You won't read this anywhere else and that's the worst part about it.

Yesterday, on the "Ebling and You" radio program on 1320 WILS out of Lansing, State Senator and Congressional Candidate Mark Schauer criticized another candidate for receiving a $1,000 contribution from the oil industry and stated, 2 minutes and 50 seconds into the interview:

"I have never received a contribution from these folks".

(You can listen to the interview here.)

Apparently Schauer has a different definition of "never received a contribution" than, say, the rest of humanity, because Schauer has received $19,525 from the oil and gas industry over the years.

His big dollar contributors include the Michigan Oil & Gas Association PAC, Michigan Petroleum PAC (funded by Chevron, Sunoco, Halliburton and Shell executives), Coastal Corporation PAC (a Fortune 500 company now sold, but at the time of the contribution it was a competitor of Exxon, Shell, and Texaco), and Enron Corporation PAC.

According to followthemoney.org and fec.gov, Mark Schauer has accepted $19,375 from the oil and gas industry.  Toss in another $150 from the Enron Corporation PAC while he was in the State House and suddenly you're up to a staggering $19,525 from Big Oil.  After claiming he'd "never received a contribution" from "these folks."

I'm not a math genius but I'm pretty sure $19,525 is a lot more than zero.

Better yet, when asked "would you accept it if they offered you (a check)" Schauer had the gall to say "probably not."  Asked AGAIN, later in the interview if he would actually turn down money from folks like Exxon he claimed AGAIN that he would turn the money down.

The MSM?  Nada.  Here in Michigan a liberal can go on the radio and tell blatant lies and they're accepted on their face.  Why question him?  He's a DEMOCRAT! Heck, the best case scenario involves none of them paying enough attention to notice such questionable and easily investigated claims.  But hey, at least the liberal media has opened up a nice little niche market for conservative bloggers... the truth.

This last Schauer adventure with honesty?  Not going to fly, Mark.  You're flush with cash from Big Oil, you're a hypocrite and now we can say with complete certainty that you're a liar too.

You can check out a pdf of Schauer's oil industry donations here or you can view them as images below...

Way to hold Schauer accountable, Nick!

Surprisingly, Big Energy, Big Pharma and Wall Street are contributing much more to Democrats this year than to Republicans. Doesn't make much sense to me that they would try to further the camp that's OPENLY discussing socializing, er, umm...nationalizing their industries, but what do I know?

the hypocrisy of some running for elective office who will say anything to anyone to pander for a handful of votes.

Years ago they might have gotten away with it. But today, with video, cell phones, and the internet -- there are just too many ways that you can be found out.

It is an old adage that is still relevant today:  If you simply tell the truth, you don't have to try to remember what it was that you said.

That's going to leave a mark!

Tim Walberg is going to leave an even bigger mark next week, courtesy of Channel 10 in Lansing.  A new ad will air featuring a mother with young kids who didn't take too kindly to Schauer's tax increases and his vote against pornography.

Hopefully it'll hit YouTube before then because I don't watch TV too often.
