    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

    And It Has Been Mentioned

In a comment to a previous posting:

    . . . Article 1, Section 10 of that same U. S. Constitution:

"No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation ..."

No modifiers, no qualifications, no "consent of Congress" clause . . . nothing.

Even the president must have consent of the US senate before entering into a treaty.  And if one looks at the Lefty cheerleading media, one might find cheerleading liberal democrats extolling the virtues of our one term potentate.

There is nothing more exhilarating than allowing the socialist neighbors to put down a Michigan business that pays Michigan taxes, employs Michigan workers, and spends money in Michigan, right Rick?  What did they pay you? Where are the accounts?  Why the obsession with giving CANADA the upper hand?

    2014, Nerd.  Time to go.

There really is no end to Lansing goonion payola, and crony capitalism that goes on in Michigan.  via detroitnews.com

Detroit - The Westin Book Cadillac avoided defaulting on a $15 million loan this month after a city pension fund intervened, raising questions about the health of a landmark hotel and symbol of the city's economic redevelopment.

The Detroit Police and Fire pension fund made a partial interest payment March 1 after hotel owner John Ferchill outlined the Book Cadillac's financial condition.

The Cleveland-based developer told pension trustees the project has lost $23 million after deals to sell condominiums atop the hotel fell through.  ~Rest here

Yup.  Just like Ferchill Group boasts on its own website.

"The high cost of renovating The Book-Cadillac Hotel required creative financing involving the city, county and state, along with tax credits and other sources that previous developers couldn't handle. The Ferchill Group brought to the table financing tools that Detroit had never used. With the Ferchill team on board, we are confident that we will finally see this project become a reality."

    Division!

How appropriate that the call for a head count be the very word which describes the event just before the GOP implodes.

To preface this, I do not give a Rats A$$ which candidate's team posted this up. As many of you may know, We have been actively recruiting delegates throughout the state of Michigan to toss the corruption from the party with prejudice.  Georgia's Republican party problems are not unique, and we face the ignoring of the rules regularly in our own state as well.

Make no mistake, the technology today gives us the best opportunity to regain control over our party, but if you don't show up for the fight you cannot win.

    Day 15 - A History

Some media folks have expressed an interest in seeing the entire body of work from this site on the "Dele-Gate" affair.

We wouldn't want to let them down.

It IS the Ides of March after all.

As an aside, should anyone think this is fun, think again. While we occasionally try to offer a little humor in some of the presentation, the fight for the soul of our state party is nothing to laugh at.  Some of us prefer rule of law, transparency, accountability, and an open acceptance of responsibility for mistakes made.  We identify what is wrong, attempt to repair, take ownership where necessary, then move on.

And others? Its about mitigating damage, but not correcting what is wrong.  The lie begets the lie, and as we have all seen the same theme in the worst TV show and movie plots, it always results in more embarrassment than if the fault was accepted up front.

So Fun? No.  I never much cared for those shows, as it ticked me off to see such willful deceit with an obvious end.

Our current reading list on this subject is below the fold.

Quote Of The Day - Day 12

"Dele-Gate" continues, with us patient waiting for the resignations that ought to happen.

Romney supporters agree.  Cheating is silly.

Oh, you silly Michigan Republicans. Yes, I voted in the primary. Yes, I voted for Mitt Romney. Yes, I want to see Romney prevail in the delegate count. No, I don't want Saul Anuzis to put his thumb on the scale. Give Santorum his stupid delegate and be done with it. Intentions aside, retroactively "interpreting" the rules to favor a favored candidate smacks of dishonesty even if such interpretation is valid and squeaky clean. The appearance of impropriety is what matters, not the actuality of impropriety.
And in this case we have both appearance and fact.

Note the lack of a waiver (still waiting on ANY repudiation folks!) for approval of the change, prior to it happening, issued by the RNC.

    Thumb on the scale indeed.

    Merchant of corruption.

    Bobby Schostak: Grassroots Are Stupid

Michigan GOP Chair Bobby Schostak ain't Obi Wan Kenobi.

"There is no trouble" and "The ones you seek aren't here" and all the jedi mind trick posturing that Bobby will try, doesn't change the fact that the MiGOP betrayed the trust of Michigan Republicans. The treachery so obvious, that the credentials committee, occupied primarily by a single candidate supporting crew, couldn't even get a unanimous vote in its decision to cheat.

So when those of us (who support honest dealings) see from people supposedly representing our values, an attempt to subvert political process, we bristle. And then we speak out.

This is NOT Chicago. And we are NOT the Democrat party.

However, given the RINO Power mentality which runs the Michigan Republican party it might just as well be.

And doubling down below the fold, Bobby Schostak does the "suck it up sunshine" routine, attempting to make OUR efforts at transparency appear divisive.

Explain To Us Again Why Detroit Doesn't Already Have a EFM

Detroit - Part of an $11 million grant intended to provide business attire to 400 low-income job-seekers instead helped only two people, an audit of the city's Department of Human Services has found.

The audit, conducted by the city's auditor general for the period from July 2009 to September 2011, found the department failed to control the operations and finances of a boutique that was to provide the clothes.

The department did not safeguard grant funds or create an inventory for the clothing, the audit found.

Among the most telling findings, which will be discussed today during a City Council committee meeting, is that a third-party contractor advanced $148,000 to a downtown Detroit clothing store and opened an account, but did not include the city on the account.

    Rest here

While Guv Snynerd plays footsie with Detroit, the City of Hamtramckstan and Wayne County is nearing Tango Uniform with meeting their payrolls.
