    I must conclude that God has not answered my prayer.

    Not so, for God always answers the believer's prayers.  In fact, as my pastor is so fond of pointing out, God answers the believer's prayer in one of four ways:

    1. Yes

    2. Not yet

    3. Not this way

    4. I'll give you something better

    Given what all reasonable members of the American Electorate have seen of late, I suspect that the first answer isn't the one we will get.  In fact, I suspect that the next two don't apply either.  It seems, to my limited powers of observation, that God intends instead to give us something better, and is using President Obama to set us up for it.
