One change is needed (none / 0) (#7)

The one change needed in the project is the location in Nebraska.  Putting the pipeline above the Ogallala Aquifer is a recipe for disaster if a leak occurs.  That's the only thing I dislike about the current proposal, but fully support it with the exception of that slight deviation of the path in Nebraska.

That being said, Congress pushing Obama to approve the project is pretty ridiculous.  Ultimately, Congress has no power to tell Obama to make a decision, and putting it the bill that they did only furthers the partisan divide.

Let the Administration finish the needed EIS studies on the path going around the Ogallala Aquifer, so that he can approve it when the time is right.  Rushing things like this is how we land ourselves in positions where we "didn't forsee these problems".  Waiting until the impact study is done isn't going to cause detrimental harm to anybody, but forcing a decision without knowing all of the potential impacts could be devastating for hte Midwest.
