    Go ask Newt (none / 0) (#4)
by Corinthian Scales on Sat Feb 18, 2012 at 12:01:38 PM EST
why there isn't a swath of indictments for what these "educators" have been doing to these kids

Newt was one of the 30 Progressive Republicans that aided the Socialists in the Democratic Party with creating the environment everyone now b!tches about.

McGuire. elated by the 21-201 House okay of the Senate-approved bill, called the vote "one of education's finest hours"
Democrats rallied to Carter in the House, with 185 supporting him.  77 voting "no"  Republicans were overwhelmingly against the bill, only 30 voted for it, 124 against.
Advocates of the new department maintain it will more efficiently manage federal education programs and eliminate duplication.
Opponents.  including the 500,000-member AFL-CIO American Federation of Teachers. feel generally the new department will lead to greater interference in and eventual federal control of local education.

Carter is scheduled to sign the bill creating his 13th cabinet department in a White House rose garden ceremony tomorrow.
College lobbyists generally were lukewarm to creation of the new department.

Ain't that just a b!tch?  The goonions were against the Democrats just 33 years ago.  My how times have changed.  As the saying goes... can't beat 'em, join 'em.

A n y o n e  who'd support Newt Gingrich for president today should really have their head examined.  Sure, Newt talks a good game, but he's dangerous as hell when looking at his Big Government Progressive agenda.
