    Raise the curtain.

    By no stretch of the imagination . . . (none / 0) (#3)

. . . am I implying, at least not intentionally, that we let this go.  Uh-uh.

My reference to the Michigan Jackass Party is to highlight just how hypocritical I find it that they are all righteously offended by this, when their fingerprints are all over:

    • Reform Michigan Government Now
    • Bogus "sleeping judge" campaign against Cliff Taylor
    • Steffek Tea Party
    • Bogus "sleeping judge" campaign against Robert Young
    • Wayne County Executive Bob Ficano
    • Supreme Court Justice Diane Hathaway
    • Protect Our Jobs
    • and a stealth democrat in our judicial nominee pool

For which chirping crickets are louder than the outrage arising from the left side of the political aisle.  And that was the point of that half of the opinion piece, that while Brewer, et alia, have a point, they have no claim to the moral high ground.

As for our side of the aisle, my point about citing the "Agema quote" was to highlight how unrealistic it is to expect that Bolger will be forced out by any internal process this side of November 6th.  My point behind linking to the rest of the garbage that the MIGOP's been guilty of so far this year (the tip of the iceberg, in my opinion) was to highlight that we really need to put some effort into cleaning up our own closet if we expect to have any moral credibility.

As for Bing Goei, I'm not sure who is or isn't out stumping for him, other than that some -- many actually -- Republican precinct delegates are out circulating his flyers and palm cards.  I know Bing personally and fairly well; he was also one of my bigger-dollar supporters in my unsuccessful school board run last year.  Granted that his primary opponent in 2010 was, IMO, a better choice, but in the situation that we have on our hands now, we gotta take what we can get.  (At least Bing has some credibility, Schmidt chucked his.)

As for Ken Yonker, I don't know what to tell you.

We've got our work cut out for us in restoring some integrity to the Michigan Republicans.
