Much like many companies who cut corners on producing their flagship products or services, the Republican Party has forgotten that merely not being the Democrats is hardly a compelling reason to support it or it's selection of candidates.

When you cheapen the value of what you bring to the table, blur the lines of distinction between you and the others on the shelf, or do not live up to your advertising claims, you risk losing the discerning customers you attracted in the past, as well as your ability to attract new customers who see little value in the offerings of your competition.

The GOP has backed itself into a blind corner by taking the lead of the Governor- or merely not reminding him that his missteps on fuel tax increases and social entitlements are diametrically opposed to what the Party once used to be a staunch representative of.

Todd Courser represents a big wave of Conservative ideals and principles bearing down on the Michigan beach of decayed sand castles representing faulty and uninspired moderation of basic Founding Principles once known to be the hallmark of the Michigan Republican Party.

Once elected, you can bet your last dollar that the devastation of the status quo will be declared the death of the Party by all who pursue a seat at the public trough for all the wrong reasons, and more will claim they didn't leave the Party- the Party left them.

And to them, I simply say "Goodbye, and good riddance".
