    Dick DeVos speaks to POAM

I've been on the site for a while and I caught the discussion last week or two weeks ago about how Dick DeVos is polling higher than Jennifer Granholm right now.

Seemed like people were split about whether or not he should run again but either way people were really interested. So I thought everyone might like this video I just found on You Tube.  I guess Mr. DeVos is still traveling around and talking to different groups.

This was at the Police Officers Association of Michigan's annual conference and if I remember right they endorsed DeVos last year.

And for whatever it's worth, I hope he does run again.  I even joined the new "Draft DeVos" group on Facebook too.

Run Dick run. Run, run, run (1.00 / 1) (#1)

I too hope the Amway guy runs. After all, rich guys need to do something to keep busy. You can only sail on your yacht so much.

I'll gladly take whoever the Democrats nominate against Amway Dick. As long as he keeps his spending in state, it's good for the economy and good for electing another Democrat governor.

It just goes to show you that it was 'Bush' the majority voted against last Nov. Not for Granmole.

    it is interesting though (5.00 / 1) (#5)

that immediately after someone posts something about Dick the trolls have to jump into the conversation.

As far as the video goes, I like DeVos' approach.  Talking to groups a year after a really tough loss and three years before any potential second try and just telling them "thanks."

Very cool.  Having spent a little bit of time with the guy I can tell you this much... what you see is what you get.  He's a genuine guy.

    How? (1.00 / 1) (#6)

How am I a troll, and what's interesting about it? I had to register to post her, but people can post anonymously on my blog. But I'm a troll?  What "tough loss' are you talking about? The Governor won a clear victory with a pretty comfortable margin.

If he runs again, I hope he spends those millions on a PR firm here in Michigan this time instead of one out of state.

    Too Good for Politics (5.00 / 1) (#7)
by DMOnline on Fri Jun 08, 2007 at 08:55:05 PM EST
Dick DeVos may be too good a man for politics - at least on the statewide level.

One has to be a double-speaking professional like Granholm to promise not to raise taxes and then do everything in her power to confiscate more money from Michigan's citizens shortly after winning re-election.  A candidate can't have a conscience and still be able to pull that off with aplomb.

Unfortunately, the Democrat party is jam-packed with conscienceless people like Granholm.  So there will always be at least one money-grubbing thief waiting in the wings to fill her pumps.
