Lawyers and TV Stations Agree: Brewer, Hathaway and Democrats are Liars

Mark Brewer, Diane Hathaway and Michigan Democrats are Liars: Lawyers and TV Stations Agree

Have you seen the latest anti-Cliff Taylor hit piece Mark Brewer and his band of lying liars are running on TV stations across the state?  The one claiming he fell asleep during oral arguments before the court?  Scary stuff, right?  Nobody wants a public servant snoozing on the clock, least of all a judge.

One tiny little problem.  Lying liars tend to lie.  A lot.

James G. Gross, who was the attorney for the City of Detroit who argued before the court in the case in question has now filed a sworn affidavit stating, in part:

"If the Chief Justice or any other Justice had fallen asleep, I would have noticed and remembered it. I have no recollection of any of the Justices falling asleep during the argument. I can therefore attest to a moral certainty that neither the Chief Justice nor any other Justice fell asleep during either of the aforementioned oral arguments."

You can check out the affidavit in its entirety HERE.

The Taylor campaign and the Michigan Republicans sent a copy to TV stations across the state, warning them that they were broadcasting demonstrably proven lies and demanding the ad be yanked from the airwaves.

"Any station that keeps this ad up will be a party to the Democrat's latest effort to attack the Supreme Court through bogus and fabricated claims," they state.

Every election cycle, campaigns across the country send these sorts of letters to TV stations just about anytime a new ad hits the airwaves.  It's usually easy to refute a soundbyte TV spot but, then again, it's just as easy to defend it, depending on your point of view.  Very rarely does a television station actually yank the ad.

Then again, rarely, does a campaign go to the lengths that Mark Brewer, Dem Supreme Court candidate Diane Hathaway and the Michigan Democrats have gone to in this particular case to deceive voters.  They are literally lying and the Taylor camp, thanks to Mr. Gross, can prove it!

The early response from the TV folks?  They agree with Taylor and are calling Brewer, Hathaway et al liars.  Today, WWMT TV 3 here in west Michigan became the first station, but almost certainly not the last, to yank the ad from the airwaves.

Ad this one to Mark Brewer's growing "oops" file.  First he failed to find a candidate to run against Taylor.  Then he failed again.  And again.  And again.  And... you get the point.  By most accounts, Hathaway was anywhere between the thirteenth and nineteenth person approached to run.

Then, sensing inevitable defeat in a race he'd made his personal pet project, Brewer took a time out to pursue the ill-fated and hyper liberal Reform Michigan Government Now government takeover scheme.  Millions were spent.  Months were wasted.  The abomination of a ballot initiative got bounced.

Now Brewer's up with the beginnings of an ad campaign and his lies are so obvious, so egregious and so easily disproved that they're being yanked from the airwaves.

Keep up the great work, Mark!

had an article about this ad in the paper yesterday.  In it, Mark Brewer defended his ad saying he had an eyewitness and that was all the proof you needed to justify the ad.

Holding Mark to that standard it has been rumored that Obama was born in Kenya, and that there are eyewitnesses to prove that.  I would hold that if an eyewitness is all the proof one needs, then Obama can't be president because he is not a naturalized citizen of this country.
